A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.

As far as TV shows go they've been quiet. However they have been cranking out a bunch of animated movies and don't seem to be slowing down.
For what it's worth, I still say TTG! is underrated. I know a lot of fans wanted an actual revival of the 2002 series, but once you accept that that's just not what this is and is never going to be, it is actually pretty funny. It's more like a Teen Titans Abridged series than a continuation, and while that's not gonna be everyone's cup of tea, I think it works really well.
I mean, yeah, there are some episodes that just fall flat, the song/dance interludes can be overused, and while I still say Raven being a brony is great and the episode where the team got zapped into not-Equestria by Control Freak was hilarious, I can agree they've overused the joke a bit. But all that said, there's still plenty more to like than to hate, for me. Having the voice actors from the old series reprising their roles for it especially helps.
Eh, I've heard that DC's animated movies after Flashpoint Paradox are garbage, especially since said films are based off of New 52. The shows on the other hand are pretty great, especially Justice League and Batman: The Animated Series.

I dunno, I heard Attack on Arkham was supposed to be pretty decent. Son of Batman was also pretty good. Not spectacular, but decent.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.@Marvel films mentioned earlier not being made by Marvel: Didn't know that one. Thanks for correcting me on that one though! Also forgot imo the worst film to be made from a Marvel superhero: Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Not even the magnificence that is Nicholas Cage could make that film any good imo.
As for Teen Titans, I loved that show when it was still running, but I don't think the reboot is anything I would want to watch, especially after the reception I have heard about the show and the severe derailment of the characters over their original TV versions. Yet again, I ended up watching MLP and that has an even worse reception on a lot of the internet (thankfully, they keep away from this website).

Avatar by Pastel Mistress: http://pastelmistress.deviantart.com/Eh, seeing them rub in the fact that Raven and Twilight share the same VA felt more like "Hey, that person from your childhood is in this show. Love it for just that!" to me. But you know, opinions are very volatile.

As someone who adored the original Teen Titans series, I actually agree that TTG! isn't all that awful if you just take it at face value. That being said, I think it would be better suited to a series of shorts rather than the two 11 minute episodes.
"I feel like I'm on a raft and surrounding me is an ocean of dumb."- Mr. SarkIn terms of dominance, DC is better at TV (Everyone loves The Flash, and of course the DCAU) and Marvel is better at movies.
Then again, Marvel is catching up in TV as well. If Netflix is considered conventional 'TV', then Daredevil has shown they can throw down in that space.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectI remember Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. Damn, that was dark.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Projecti do. my favorite episode is "Flash and Substance." i think that episode solidified Flash's spot in my list of favorite superheroes.
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.Because they've settled upon the fallacious notion that a Cutie Mark is something you get at random that points to a divine destiny, rather than an expression of how you desire to live your life, and what you desire to do with it. Therefore instead of pursuing their own interests they blindly flail at anything and everything that comes to their mind, desperately hoping to randomly unlock some grand secret that doesn't exist.
To be fair, it seems to be an opinion half of their society encourages, but the other half suggests it's wrong regardless.

There are also other mental blocks that prevent such a thing. Particularity in Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo's case
- For Sweetie Belle, it is made clear that she has Stage Fright. The Show Stoppers were the closest she got because she actually was on stage (There's also her dream in Bloom and Gloom, which implies that she wants to sing). However because of the above they wind up invoking the heroic equivalent of Never Recycle Your Schemes
- Scootaloo on the other hand is implied both in show and in fanon to be incapable of flight, yet she worships and idolizes Rainbow Dash regardless. I think her desire to please her might have blinded her to her talent for riding a scooter for one reason of another.
I think that the episode where they get their cutie marks will involve some huge Epiphany Therapy. Even then the order will likely start with Sweetie Belle because it is made apparent that she wants to sing and is clearly capable of it.
Do you think I should see it? I skipped it when it came out.
Like Hell's Kitchen I guess.
You mean the one from the The Lego Movie?
Me neither. From what little I've seen, Teen Titans was cool though. That's DC, right?
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayYeah, Winter Soldier was pretty good. It's also kind of important plotwise.
Reaction Image RepositoryI was foolish to click the link for New52 and now I've wiki walked all the way to Level 1 Music Represents. Help.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play

What has the DCAU been doing lately? After Young Justice and Teen Titans Go, I haven't heard much beyond shorts for the superheroines series.
