A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

It's basically a fan-made ponification of Final Fantasy 6, and from what I've heard it does a good job of blending in the characters with that kind of setting. I've also heard that it's actually harder then the original game as well.
@Kegi: Yeah, in the games it's just "Sticking the cute little critters inside the robots" thing, not to mention that Eggman/Robotnik is not anywhere near as evil as his Archie Comics and Satam counterparts, so he probably wouldn't do something like turning someone's flesh into machine. And as for Bunnie, she sadly doesn't fare much better in the comics either.

@kegisak: The problem is that in both medias she's in, there was an obvious slant in spotlight (the writers in both admitted a favoritism for Sally). That and they tended to downplay the "quirkiness" of the characters a lot of the times to make it more darker in tone, which I never felt worked for the cartoony Sonic characters (I find irony in the fact that most of the Freedom Fighters have counterparts in the Lighter and Softer FIM, the latter which does a much better job developing them and showing their full potential, albeit with the Bunnie counterpart still the most underplayed).
As said Bunnie has cool traits, but she is mostly a Flat Character and Demoted to Extra.
On topic with both subjects at this point, there's also this hack:

so has this European version pony cartoon
already been brought up here?
That's a shame. Especially since, if they want to make it darker, you know... cyborg. Right there. Forcible transformed, stripped of a fair portion of biological function(Again, depending on design).
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes. Is FF 6 worth playing? Seems like it might take a long time to play. The Trixie Opera scene sounds funny though. I heard they made up custom dialogue for Trixie's improvisation.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play
I dunno, they could look a lot worse, if you ask me.
I'm sorry, and I know it gets annoying when y'all are all talking about videogames and I start talking about a body wash I had as a kid or something, but I really just don't know videogames. I mean, I want to contribute, but I've just never really been much into videogames. I haven't had a console since I was 12, for all it's worth.
"No." - Rosa ParksI haven't had a console ever unless you count the GBC. Most of what I know about videogames comes from the internet.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play@ Ghost: That body wash game sounds just like a game I had as a kid. Water, button, put the rings over the stakes. It was called "Wonderful Waterfuls." They made a bunch of water-based toys.
I put my friend in a coconut! He lives in my hat! Hey, come hang out!Yeah, I have nothing to add to video game or Pokemon discussions.
I put my friend in a coconut! He lives in my hat! Hey, come hang out!@Syd Yeahh, I always liked that thing :P
I don't know. I just don't want to go out and learn something I don't really have much of an interest in. I mean, it's not like I never had the chance to, but they all seemed either fighting based, which I absolutely hate any form of violence, or boring and repetitive. I just wasn't ever really into them. I mean, if they had a not-violent game with a good plot, I'd probably like it. But that's the way I think, I guess
I'm not trying to talk bad about them or anything or say that they suck or something.
I forgot why I even decided to bring this up, honestly.
@crow Thanks

"No." - Rosa Parks

@Marston: Yeah, but what I wanna know is why. I mean, it's not like she wouldn't fit into the games... I think. Is robotization a pressing issue in the games at all? Or did they drop the 'robots are powered by little critters' element after the first few games?
But I mean, even setting aside the genuinely interesting potential of a cyborg in a setting that's defined by conflict between nature and industrialization, not to mention the character elements than can be dregdged up from the forceful removal of a lot of her robotic elements - including, depending on the design, her ability to procreate and possibly the necessity of food - she had a really cool design and some interesting Team Mom character traits. It wouldn't be hard to fit her into a game mechanically, since her robotic parts are an easy way of explaining her speed or flight capabilities, and have the potential for some new, unique gameplay segments...
It just seems like a waste to leave her by the wayside. She was probably the first character I felt any degree of attachement for in the Sonic Universe, which is not something frequent - hence my lack of knowledge of the franchise.
