A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Peg Leg Pete. The very first mainstream Disney villain of course.

Also he forgot about Tinkerbelle, apparently.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayThat would require Mickey to actually be in something.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play
It's okay since he antagonizes Donald, Goofy and Pluto as well.

It's just weird that they put Mickey in all their logos and everything when most people weren't alive for the last time he was actually in any major movies.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayMascots don't necessarily need to be all that relevant. The Shin Megami Tensei mascot is Jack Frost, and he's just a random monster. Keeping Mickey in the mascot role makes more sense than using someone from a recent movie who fall from relevance in a few years. Imagine if they tried changing their mascot to Chicken Little or something.
House Of Mouse, Runaway Brain, Mickey Donald Goofy The Three Musketeers.

other than the Kingdom Hearts series, re-release of Castle of Illusion, and the brand new Mickey Mouse shorts Disney's been doing for months now?

All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.Oh, I haven't heard of the shorts.
Anyway, I guess the opposite is Mario. Mario is in every game ever and yet has no personality or characterization either due to the Mascot Lobotomy.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayThey at least have gotten the point with Mickey and given him more personality again (or at fail tried to).
Sonic was at one point suffering the opposite problem ironically enough, though seems to be heading to similar territory (he at least has some personality however).

One thing I still wonder: Pete lived in a mostly dog-populated world in "GT". Peg was some kinda poodle or some Pomeranian. Does that make PJ a Cat Dog?
The only thing I can think of for Sonic is that he likes to go fast and eat chilidogs and give stupid safety messages. But I was never a big Sonic fan.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play
He's also cocky, making him either an Insufferable Genius or a Leeroy Jenkins Depending on the Writer.
Some interpretations also make him Peter Pan levels of jerkassery.
He did suffer Mascot Labotomy in some medias however, especially Sonic X.

quick update on Sonic's personality:
- go fast? check.
- love of chili dogs? check.
- safety messages? not as much as he used to.
@Psi: Yeah, I think Sonic was at his worst in Sonic X {And also Sonic 06, but that's a whole other story}. Pretty much no personality whatsoever, and he was just there to constantly save the day {And for that matter, characters like Amy and especially Knuckles were horribly flanderized as well}. At least in Sonic Satam he had a personality of sorts, even if he was a giant douche at times and also a bit of an idiot, especially in season 2 {Though not anywhere near as much as his Sonic The Comic counterpart, who was a full-on Jerkass, no questions about that}.

Then there's Tails, who's just there to accidently let Robtonik take the gem and to 'accidently' make Sonic drown.

Pete's the big cat that's part of Mickey Mouse's cast. He was also in Goof Troop.
