Never been a huge fan of Way Forward, but I'm liking this game's look and music.
Though, at the risk of sounding like "that guy", I don't understand why they made Shantae so pale. >_>

In the intro sequence of that trailer, when it gets to the first image of the new sprie, it reminds me of backgroud characters in Skullgirls stages. Something about the drawing style and the fluidity of the animation.

I've been meaning to get into the Shantae series for a while now. What with the first game recently being releaed on the 3DS virtual consoole, I think this might just be the time to do it.

It's ironic, because many years back, I remember reading an ad for Shantae in a gameinformer mag(I think.)but nothing else happened after it's supposed release date. Glad to see this is getting some recognition.
I remember reading about Shantae through IGN's website back then. They helped hype it up a lot. The problem with the original game was that it was released at the very end of the Game Boy Color's life cycle, while the Game Boy Advance was just released. Wayforward actually anticipated this and allowed extra features to be unlocked within the original game if it was played with a GBA. I believe this feature is added in by default in the 3DS re-release.
And I just realized that owning a 3DS means you can own all three of the handheld titles. Good stuff.
It wasn't so much at the end of the GBC's lifecycle as after it was basically dead.
I really need to go back and grab the already released games on my 3DS.
Also, on one hand, I really want this, and on the other, unlike the other two things I just backed, there's no Linux release. Eh, we've got a PS 3, so I can probably still make it work.

The game isn't one that I'm likely to get, but that is lovely art, and wow that is a beautiful song; I'm glad that they offered the song for free, and thank you Grounder for posting about the download. ^_^
