I'm pretty sure that "trope" in this name is actually fine. It's not being used as a placeholder, it's being used because that's actually where the obvious trope would go.
I wouldn't be opposed to a rename, but it's not that bad.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Short And Snappy. The current page ought to be a redirect to Zero-Context Example.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThese two plainly violate No New Stock Phrases, sorry.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThis itself is a Stock Phrase. The restriction does not seem to account for renaming existing stock phrases.
Oh. Never Trust A Trope's alternate names seemed to be based on stock phrases so I was confused.
Right, sorry. I'm working on it now.
I'm looking to separate wicks from uses or attempts to use as a trope and blatant use as part of a Zero-Context Example (like "Three words: Onstage Tesla Coils.") Should I check for other misuse as well?

Go through the appropriate number of wicks and separate them out into
- Correct use: it's used as a trope name, regarding the use of the trope within the work.
- Incorrect use:
- Sinkholed; not used in the work at all (This is where your "Three words: Onstage Tesla Coils" would go, unless that's actually a line from a work. If it's not, it's just the person who wrote the example trying to be clever.)
- Not used according to the definition
- Used as a ZCE for another trope.
- Add any other ways that you find it being misused as subcategories here
- Can't tell:
- Used as a ZCE
- Example has some information, but either there's not enough or you aren't familiar enough with the work to tell whether the use is correct from the information that's there.
A check on every five wicks on the main Two Words: Obvious Trope page for a total of 66. Two Words may be checked separately, though I do not expect the results to be too different, or possibly worse.
A large amount of misuse was found under YMMV subpages (like Awesome, Funny, etc.)

Honestly, I was under the impression that this was just a redirect for Zero Context Example, and that it wasn't supposed to be linked. Had no idea it was a real trope. Another vote for rename.
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff.Something like Word Count For Emphasis would be a Boring, but Practical name for the trope being described. (I also think that Wrong Word Count For Emphasis, for when people say things like "I've got two words for you, man: go to hell" should be spun off as a separate subtrope.)
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.
Crown Description:

This kind of trope name is just the kind that begs for misuse to write a Zero-Context Example. Bolded text indicates that it is so. It also uses "trope" as a placeholder, which is something not to be done.
The page is divided over the correct amount of words, which looks like just a Stock Phrase, and the wrong amount of words, which looks like it's a common trait of The Ditz. Still, I am not sure of whether it deserves a hard split.
I may come back with a wick check later if it is necessary.
