UQ Holder

Basically, it's like this:

Touta one-shots Ialdabaoth then, before he can get possessed, he summons Chao Lingshen somehow. Chao proceeds to freeze time, and then Touta, Kuroumaru, Negi and Asuna shatter Ialdabaoth in 12 billion fragments, each of which goes into a human being.

Evangeline dies telling Nagi that she loved him.

12'000 years later (because I guess Aquarion made that number cool), Evangeline is reborn from a flower on an Earth that's almost completely devoid of humans - because humans have migrated to other star systems in the universe and are thriving, not that we actually see any of this. Touta finds her, accompanied by Karin and Kuroumaru, and they go back to the UQ Holder home base, where they meet everyone else - except Gengoro, who clearly decided he was too good for this BS and returned to his time.

So basically, Asuna did not go back in time, Negi was revived and got together with her, Chisame, Nodoka and Yue. But he decided to give up his immortality because reasons.

Somehow, Touta met Shinobu again. When he said goodbye to Shinobu and Mizore, it was the last time he saw them. Mizore died at 34 for some reason.

We are told that humanity is thriving but there are still many bad guys to fight against, so UQ Holder will still be around because clearly us Puny Earthlings can't even tie our shoes right without outside help.

And while Karin and Kuroumaru stayed with Touta, Kirie got old and died, but was regularly visited by Touta. And Touta runs UQ Holder. And he gets together with Evangeline too.

The End.

Kind of feels like I dodged a bullet losing interest in this and dropping it.

You did man. You did.

My girl finally got an ending that doesn't blow though, so hey, small victories? Could care less about everything else.

This is rather underwhelming but I guess at least it's over in a somewhat acceptable way, and that's as much positive I can give to the story because man is this such a trainwreck as a whole.

Seeing volume 26 in my bookstore, I quickly skimmed through it out of curiosity… Not sure about the context but the only thing I noticed was that Tôta… did the thing with at least three of the girls… very explicitly too. >.> Didn’t think Akamatsu would go that far, to be honest.

Now imagine if UQ had gotten a full anime adaptation and they had to animate that.
