I mean, Cinema Sins are very tongue in cheek. A lot of the humour is self-deprecating or serves to demonstrate just how poor a model of criticism picking at plot holes is. They're essentially a parody of the "go scene by scene and pick out plot inconsistencies" style of criticism made popular by sites like That Guy With The Glasses.
Judging by their twitters, the only member of TGWTG who likes Cinema Sins is Doug.
Speaking of Twitter, this was an awesome prank
.
Seriously, that is such an insane theory that I'd laugh out loud if it turned out to be true. Talk about a shout-out to the original film.
On the note of Cinema Sins, yeah I've never been a fan of them since their video on Winter Soldier, a film that they really disliked for all the reasons they stated in their video, without irony:
"We both disliked it. Sorry. Probably had something to do with everyone saying "best Marvel movie ever" for six months before we watched it. Or the complete lack of common sense it displays."
And according to them, what are their thoughts on their video?
"Yep. Won't lie, we were pretty proud of that one."
Holy cow, this is something like the sixth time you've posted that video.
It's terrible. We get it. WE. GET. IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT. WE GET IT.

I think objectively speaking, WS is the better movie because it relates more to our current society, and spends more time on the inner conflicts of the characters. But I have a feeling that Got G will be movie I will rewatch more often in the future, and if Got G 2 is any good and the movie turns out to be the start of a big space epic, it might have a greater impact on the long term. It's a little bit like comparing apples to oranges.
This isn't the place for talking about Cinema Sins, but they do have a point that Rogers still hasn't seen some pretty important post-WW 2 things, yet he's seen War Games.
"While you were gone, Cold War"
"The hell is a Cold War?"
"Just watch War Games."
-LATER AT THE HALL OF JUSTICE-
"Oh god I'm glad I slept through that"
It's not like Steve woke up yesterday. He is at least three years out of the ice by now. And if I wanted someone to understand the Cold War, War Games is certainly on the list of movies I would recommend. I am actually more worried that Steve hasn't looked up "Berlin Wall, up and down" yet.
In the end, Peter is way much behind times than him, pop cultural references or not.
Steve has a list he made by hand when people recommended things and is presumably going through it in chronological order based on when it was suggested rather than order of importance, as Steve would not be knowledgeable of the latter. It's hard to gauge whether, say, Star Wars or Disney's Animated Canon is of greater cultural significance if you've never heard of either before.
Seeing War Games just means it was higher on the list than some of the other things he wrote down. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go savor the mental image of Steve annoying the other Avengers by freaking out over, "Oh my god, you guys, Darth Vader was his DAD. His DAD! How does that happen?! My mind is completely blown. You have seen this movie, right?"

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.He may be avoiding the Berlin wall up/down thing because he doesn't want to grapple with how fucked up the post-war was.
Might be too close to home.

Forever liveblogging the Avengers- STEVE: There's something wrong with this order you gave me for watching the movies.
- TONY: No, there's not.
- STEVE: Episode I isn't on it.
- TONY: That's not a bug, it's a feature.

What bugged me was his use of the terms bitch and bro. The way used them in the movie wasn't in style in the 80s. Wouldn't dude have made more sense? I could be wrong though.
