It might be interesting if Bellwhether is questioned about her racism and she says that technically everyone has been racist by segregating from the reptiles the whole time. Perhaps that would be what prompts the heroes to befriend Gary.
Please remember that, ultimately, fictional works of entertainment are just that.Wowie, there are a LOT of new locations (and characters!) to be seen here. They're really going all out on expanding the setting.
I liked the iguana character they showed for a split second at the very end...and I just know the goat characters will be emitting the screaming goat sound effect just based on their character designs. 😅
"Hey, least I didn't lose all my artistic talent when I crash landed in the arena here."Given the themes of the last movie. If I were to guess the themes of this one, I'd say xenophobia towards foreigners. Especially since Gary is voiced by Ke Huy Quan, whose parents were Vietnamese immigrants.
I love how everyone on Reddit started calling iguana character "Rango".
Lol.
Wow, a lot of new characters. The beaver, walrus, and quokka has been seen in promos before, but there will be a horse, a bobcat, an anteater, an iguana, an elephant seal, and many, many more. And of course everyone is back, even Bellwether.
"All seals are okay in my book. But leopard seals. Because they identify as leopards! Duh!"
Please remember that, ultimately, fictional works of entertainment are just that.![]()
Yeah, I think that leopard seals might have been on the "predator" side of the conflict due to being the most carnivorous of all pinnipeds, but what about sea lions, seals, walruses or elephant seals (like the one that appears in the teaser)? Were they on the "prey" side of the conflict in first movie?

…I saw no Zebra in Vader’s helmet. (Wait I see him)

You’re Gonna Carry That Weight. So looks like I was right, the other cops besides Nick and Judy are antagonists in this one. I’m going to guess Gary is scapegoated for a crime actually committed by the cloaked guy and/or Bellwether, and our main duo are the only ones who believe him.
So what do we think? More of a terrorist plot from the villains this time around?

You’re Gonna Carry That Weight. So I just saw this theory
on Reddit and... I don't see Nick's mom being this mysterious cloaked villain, mostly because I want to see that giraffe businessman from lithograph as the villain and I see Nick's mom being the villain as heartbreaking (both to myself and Nick)
.
So, a WMG page has been created for the sequel. Should I move some of the theories from Zootopia Sequel Predictions to sequel's page?
Seeing the comments on social media, the reactions about the trailer are mixed. Some liked it for giving us a first impression about how the movie will look like, other dislike it because it doesn't show new footage, along with finding weird and frenetic, with even a person pointing out the outdated sound effect of Judy airhorn as a "red flag" (even though it only appears in the teaser and likely not intended to be in the movie at all).
Personally, I didn't find the teaser trailer bad. It was different from what we expected? Yes, but it also showed us the new and refreshing animation, along with new characters and environment, an improvement of the first teaser trailer of the first movie.

The air horn was clearly intended to be a segue into the rave sequence anyway so I don't really see the issue there.
"Hey, least I didn't lose all my artistic talent when I crash landed in the arena here."My guess is that Judy and Nick are disobeying the law by protecting a criminal (Gary), and now the ZPD wants to arrest them for treason. Sounds crazy, but judging the synopsis, it looks like the city will see Gary as a terrorist (I doubt that the snake is even a bad guy at all).

I love the new Snake character, none of the footage will actually be in the movie, but the Snake looks so warm and loving. I love them already. We really need a trope for kind, warmhearted Reptiles, it can be a legit trope.
As long as this flower is in my heart. My Strength will flow without end.I'm still a little sad that Randall went from an apathetic coffee drinking coworker (a proto Squidward) in early drafts to irredeemable child torturing complete monster. He has such a cool design.
