Considering A Bug's Life came out 20 some years ago and it being one of the least popular Pixar movies currently, I wouldn't be surprised if the attraction doesn't get much of a crowd anymore anyways. Zootopia however is still pretty fresh and it was wildly successful. Disney wanting to capitalize on their newer properties over something from the 90s that lost steam many years ago makes sense.
Also, as someone with arachnophobia and not really a fan of bugs in general, I'm not exactly sad to see it go. Not like I ever wanted to see that attraction anyways. Plus Zootopia is one of my favorites.

Yes, I get that, but hopefully you see
my point. To be fair, I'm not as bug-phobic as
many people - certainly I can handle looking at
pictures of spiders. Also, cartoon bugs are
probably more palatable than real ones for
some.
Back on topic, one wonders how Fantastic Racism between mammals and reptiles will manifest in Zootopia 2. If at all, but I find it entirely possible.
Oh, and I wonder if reptiles in this universe can survive in cold areas or not. Maybe they’ll make a joke about that, or maybe they’ll show them as equally cold-tolerant as mammals with no explanation, but I prefer the former. Granted, anthropomorphic animals are presumably different from real ones in some ways, but there’s still plenty of material to draw from in reality.
Finally, I wonder if totally different species can breed in Zootopia. Obviously that wouldn’t be possible in reality, so maybe they could just adopt kids.

Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project! One thing's for sure, they will not go the Beastars route where hybridization is possible even between mammals and reptiles, but the hybrid will suffer severe Body Horror, as that's a bit too gruesome for a Disney movie.
Did they address the issue of cross-specific pairings wanting kids in the first movie at all?
Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project! In Zootopia? No, every couple we see that has kids (the Ottertons, Judy's parents) are conspecifics. The only interspecific couple is the Oryx-Antlersons, and they are also a same-sex couple (and were confirmed to be a couple only via Word of God). Other than that, the only implication of Interspecies Romance was just some Ship Tease between Judy and Nick.
> Given how Disney handles itself these days, I wouldn't be surprised if the theming around prejudice is completely removed for the sequel.
It wont be removed but it will be 'dulled' so to speak, less talk about about privilege and inequality and more talk about how Both Sides Have a Point and how Racism is bad And That's Terrible
have a listen and have a link to my discord serverThere was also an article from the Hollywood Reporter
about how Disney forced Pixar to remove any mentions of a character being trans Win or Lose, and one animator brought up their upcoming film Hoppers was being pressured to downplay their environmental messages as well.
I heard rumors that the first teaser trailer of Zootopia 2 has been finished since November and was shown on a special event a few weeks ago. The release date of the teaser is unknown, but it is possible that it will be released in February, given that the teaser trailers of previous WDAS sequels were released in February.

Today on my birthday I got this lovely crossover fanart
with Gary and Mr. Snake.
And it seems like my theory
about Zootopia 2 and The Bad Guys 2 becoming Friendly Fandoms is becoming true.
On a lark I grabbed the new Zootopia comic when I was at my local comic book shop this morning.
It’s the start of an arc so I can’t really judge the full story yet but it has a decent start.
Nick and Judy are put on crowd control at a new cellphone product launch. And because they’re main characters and cops, a crime happens. Someone set an incendiary bomb in a blimp delivering the new phones. Judy and Nick chase down the person who planted the device but he’s a patsy, a real bozo idiot who doesn’t know anything about who planned the crime or even what the crime was ahead of time.
Judy being grumpy about her assignment:

Having loved the first film, I certainly do look forward to Zootopia 2 and its swinging open of the door to anthropomorphic non-mammals in the series. And of course coming out in the Year of the Snake is a plus.
I do, however, mildly resent it for one reason. One thing that Disney has announced around the same time, probably not coincidentally, is the seeming replacement of It's Tough to Be a Bug! with a Zootopia show. However good the latter may end up being, and whatever one may say about the former, I can’t ignore one fact even if Disney does: the show itself mentions that bugs make up over 80% of the animal kingdom, and how they often have a hard time. I think replacing it with a show about mammals and other vertebrates is missing the point.
