So uh New Joker

Opinions? I kind of wondered what would happen when Batman punches him in the face.

What? They are bringing him back so soon?

Bringing him back? I must have missed something. I meant after he recovered his face after The Dollmaker cuts it off. He looks seriously messed up now. And one of his eyes is green... for some reason.

[up] Creepiest bit of Nightmare Fuel I have ever laid eyes on. I was so sure Death of the Family was going to show his face without the "mask"...but it didn't. And the funny thing is, I'm actually relieved rather than disappointed. grin

It does make me wonder how Joker is possibly going to top that. <Fridge Horror>

The Joker's exact words afterwards "That felt... fangasmic". And now apparently he wants to kill off all of Batman's allies because they weigh him down or discredit him? Something along those lines I don't think it was ever explained why he would let The Dollmaker do that to him it was a planned "Appointment".

@Tiggers "Nobody likes a knock off" was actually pretty funny.

Ah. That 'new' face is actually several months old by now, so I figured the 'new' face was another one post-Death of the Family.

I think the best they could do is to have him 'regrow' new, actually normal skin when he shows up again, either to mirror a more sedate twist to his personality (because he's gone far too past the ceiling by now in terms of forced creepiness) or just to create a contrast between his appearance and his actions.

The Lazarus Pit? Also i don't mind his new look it just would be cool if it didn't come from a newcomer organ harvesting crazy villain. It just doesn't seem like the Joker would let a crazy guy with a scalpel cut his face off.

Death of the Family took Joker too far. It was gross, overly explicit and shocking and added nothing thematically to the character that wasn't already covered.

It was basically just a gory version of Killing Joke/Death in the Family and even cribbed from Arkham Asylum.

I'd rather we just never see Joker for several years and then when he comes back he has a face and everything and we just quietly ignore this whole pointlessly edgy saga.

I'm all for some shocking Joker moments if it adds something new thematically to the character. This was just repetitive.

[up] They could have waited for several years before rearranging his face. After that he would have a whole new dimension to his insanity. But well he is supposed to be a twisted, homicidal, psychotic psychopath so this is what he would probably look like in real life but back then he cared less about how much pain he could inflict on a person the only thing he cared about was how could he drive someone insane? He could probably use completely harmless methods if he knew the functions of a certain person's psyche. This just has murder, murder and murder again written all over him.
