Oh, those designs are very blatantly out of Scooby-Doo (basically, "draw the Gravity Falls cast in Scooby-Doo style). I'm glad they went with the Great Gazoo-esque alien designs and Jetsons-esque cars, both because it's more fitting in the show's setting and because it means it's a Shout-Out to not just two, but four cartoons. Also, "Mystery Hip" is a better pun than "Mystery An".
