I'd disagree on Raleigh being the better pilot. Chuck's killed more Kaiju, didn't pilot the first Jaeger to be destroyed, has more experience, managed to fight a Cat V in its element to the degree it needed to call for help and demolished at least one Cat IV flawlessly. The only reason he and Herc didn't solo Leatherback and Otachi was that Leatherback was designed specifically to stop Striker.
Tealove is best pony.Pony Fanon IndexFun ones.
Busting open their file won't earn you the pilot. It'll just tell you where you might find them.
Currently the only known drift-compatible pilots in all of Tokyo are Jenny Jacobs and Anne Fiammetta.

You are not alone. We can search a single pilot for a free action - let's take advantage of that for the moment. Unless you happen to know of any pilots specifically that should still be alive and specialize in the kind of stuff we'll want for Jaeger #2.
Next turn, then - or when we get closer to building our second Jaeger - we can take a dedicated action to look through all the pilot files if we want, and then maybe we can see if someone else out there might work better.
And yet when Chuck and Raleigh fought, Raleigh kicked Chuck's ass.
I'm not saying Chuck is bad. He's still damn good. But I'm of the opinion that's more because Striker Eureka was the best jaeger ever built.
Edit: Do we already know the status of Ronin's original pilots? Cause if they are still alive maybe we can look them up?

Wild Ronin is a shooty type. We really should be looking up pilot files on someone more fitting the type of robit our next jaeger is going to be.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI actually already told you where Hajime and Kazuhiro where last seen: part of a delegation to argue that the PPDC needed continued funding and this whole "Wall of Life" thing was a bad idea.
Busting open their file might give you a hint as to what their drift abilities and such are though.

You are not alone. With this info I'd say we should look up one of these two. Since they're actually nearby.
I'd say one fight doesn't determine who's really better. Knifehead beat Gipsy but that doesn't mean she's worse than Cat II Is. On the his copilot was Herc front, I'd say that's says good stuff about his skills. He's good enough to be on par with both Herc and Pentecost.
Tealove is best pony.Pony Fanon IndexKnifehead didn't beat Gypsy. Gypsy beat Knifehead. Knifehead just kinda crippled Gypsy in the process and killed one of its two pilots.
At worse you could call it a mutual kill.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersThe other alternative, if we wanted to change it yet at this point, would be to see if Mako Mori is in the database as a candidate. The movie mentioned she had several simulator runs (complete with several simulated kills) and it was pretty clear she was a potential for a while, so it might not hurt to see if there's anything on her in the records.
Right; wasn't that the reason we were thinking about trying to find Beckett? My thought is that we should maybe try looking at Mako's file too so that we can 'officially' have her under consideration as a pilot, especially since there are people who as it is are feeling hesitant about looking for Beckett when we have questionable reasoning for going to find him.

Besides, if I were to go for one of Strikers pilots, I'd be searching for Herc Hanson instead. You want a boss pilot, I'd say that if Pentacost isn't around anymore, Herc is by far the best pilot still out there. Even if Pentacost is still alive and kicking, Herc's still the best pilot who can climb into a Jaeger without dying after a single run.
Dude's been around since the beginning, piloted very class of Jaeger, and I certainly hope he's still down in Australia kicking butt with Chuck inside of Striker Eureka.
