[up] Yeah she is. Thank God for Plastic Man though. He showcase why he is truly the most underatted DC hero who deserves a movie.

[up]I'd watch it. Particularly Animated. You could go downright crazy with his powers in that medium.

I hate that they ruined Harley.

You know what? It's bullshit that everyone dunks on Damien for killing Dick (since that was an accident) while Harley, one of the people directly responsible for the destruction of Metropolis, and the death of Lois and is allowed to practically become a member of the Justice League.

That's really messed up Bruce. Even if Harley is remorseful (and I'm not really sure she is to be honest).

Oct 9th 2021 at 6:52:25 PM

[up]Honestly, Harley having to deal with practically everyone being out for her blood, or to throw in the Phantom Zone for the non killing types, after what she and Joker did in Metropolis while her few allies all turn her down, not wanting any of that to come down on them, would have been a much better, if short, arc for her. It would give what happened some real weight and a sense of just how close the heroes are on top of the "Ohshitohshitohshitohshit Imscrewed!"

Indeed.

Even if she does feel guilty (and does she? I'm not sure about that), she definitely needed to suffer some painful consequences.

Though possible only after she gave birth. The kid shouldn't pay the price for her mistakes. That child just barely avoided the issues that would come with having Harley and Joker as parents since Harley had enough sense to give her up.

Oct 9th 2021 at 7:10:05 PM

For those who have seen the movie, is Superman a victim of the Worf Effect?

Oct 9th 2021 at 7:11:05 PM

[up][up]Yeah, the kid should be raised by completely normal parents far, far away from any of this insanity with her past buried so she can have a normal life. Batman would keep tabs on the kid just in case but other than that, let the kid have a normal life.

Joker can burn in hell, Harley can stay in the Phantom Zone but the kid can have a normal life.

No. Kill Harley too. That way, there's zero chance of anyone trying to kill the kid to harm Quinn, because she'd already be dead.

Oct 9th 2021 at 7:16:19 PM

[up]Yes that will work. Throw her into the sun too. To prevent anybody from Lazarusing her.

The only thing I don't like about the original Injustice is that it ruined the perception that many people have of Superman, as many people consider that Superman is one bad day away from turning into a psychopathic dictator.

[up]A misconception that is still chasing him to this day. sad

I miss the Superman that told Manchester Black to go f-k himself after he 'killed' Lois.

"I will not dishonor my wife over you."

There's also Kingdom Come where Lois does die but that did not immediately send him over the edge.

It was a whole bunch of shit that weighed on him like one ginormous mass and even then he was successfully talked down before doing anything actually bad.

Wait how is Harley cringe in this specifically? What are the reviews saying?

[up][up][up][up] Honestly I feel like the child's life will always be in constant potential danger because the idea of Joker having a biological spawn somewhere in the world is a terrifying concept.

Well, the film is a much better take on the Injustice plotline than I thought it would be.

Well, Harley did feel remorse for her role in Metropolis' destruction but that wasn't until much later in the franchise which is why it is not showcased in this film since it is only set during Year One.

[up] Which is something that irritates me with the film as the plotline is basically an abridged take on the overall story that compacts all five years of the Tom Taylor comic and [[spoilers: jumps way ahead of the gameís final chapter involving good Superman coming to save the day]]. This means a lot scenes being cut for the movie and characters killed just to not make the film cluttered.

So with Harley, she is basically completely irritating as she didnít receive any character development or regret related to her prior action of being an accomplish of a mass genocide and murder of a pregnant woman. Instead she mostly just been making Superman out as the real villain because he murder Joker, without a single self-awareness that she and the clown push him to the edge.

I mean, shit, even Damien in the movie acknowledge that the things he have done in the film is wrong amd regretted his actions for killing Dick . . . and yet Batman disown him but embrace Harley to his fold? Man, this just shows that Dick is a bigger chad then Bruce.

Ya know the weird thing is from my recollection of the first game, Batman's alliance with Harley is mostly born out of pragmatism.

Then she was entirely motivated in avenging Joker which Batman obviously doesn't like but by that point he is so desperate to have anyone on his side that he bears having Harley on his team cause she's literally the only person left.

Redeeming Harley didn't matter because he was willing to make the compromise of working with her to stop Superman which yes it arguably makes Batman a hypocrite.

Not gonna lie I was on Supe's side for most of this, I don't feel like the movie showed enough bad that comes from his way of doing things until the end. Also Batman was a giant hypocrite

That is a bit of a consequence of this massive Compressed Adaptation, in the actual games Superman is not presented as a misunderstood sympathetic hero but a monstrous tyrant who has fallen so far he is willing to slaughter thousands to set and example. This is probably the only time Superman being portrayed this way feels so weird as this is nothing like how his video game counterpart would act.

With the ending I imagine they decided to burn the bridge to any possible sequel.

I assumed by the implications he is super dead given the shots of his ripped off blood soaked metal face plate.

Also, yeah, the film definitely didnít do enough to present Superman as being completely tyranical. Like the truly worse he did in said film is sending heroes into prison jus for disagreeing with his stance, murdering a bunch of children and sending an ED-209 like Amazo to guard his hometown Smallville as a testing ground.

Definitely canít defend the first one considering he most likely send Terrific to jail for calling out his plans to eliminate guns. The group of chidren he murder were basically a Joker gang who zealously follow the psychopath who ruined Clarkís life, so I am not all that sympathetic to their death like say Billy Batson. And the whole Amazo thing was mostly spearhead by Raís

Superman also wanted to shut down the Amazo after it started malfunctioning.
