I read the Scavenger trilogy a while ago. I can't really say I enjoyed the experience too much. Poldarn, in all his or its forms, is scary as hell. I also can't to this day figure out what part of him or it is god just having a really sick joke on the rest of his humankind.
That said, the books are quite well written, they are just not for me. I prefer the David Eddings and Terry Goodkind stuff a bit more.

Thought I'd start a thread for this author. So far, only The Scavenger Trilogy has a page here.
I've started to read them (reading The Folding Knife and Sharps right now, and have previously read two of their novellas- Blue and Gold and Purple and Black).
I'm a big fan. Parker does something I really like in terms of worldbuilding- I'm not quite sure how to explain it, but basically, being very thorough about aspects of the world, while at the same time, revealing it in a way that feels realistic (since elements of the setting are normal for the characters, infodumps are rare and subtle).
Its also interesting that Parker sort of has a vague "verse" that feels like some combination of a Byzantine world with elements of Ancient Rome and Renaissance Italian City States.
Parker also has a really amusing deadpan style of narration. Reminds me a bit of Iain Banks, but drier.
I'd say the only downside is Parker really has a very distinct Signature Style, and it seems like once you've started reading some of their works, you can find a lot of repetition (i.e. it seems like lots of works feature worldly churchmen, a protagonist who is a "Well Done, Son" Guy, and a character writing journals from "the front" in combat- this may or may not overlap with a character being involved in war crimes).
Note- I use "their" above, because the author's name is a pseudonym and their identity and gender is so far unknown. That being said, a recent update on Subterranean Press regarding future publications consistently uses "her", and it seems like consensus is that Parker is female.
