Someone's probably going to label LEGO as "communist" for daring to have a corporate executive as a villain, like they did with the Muppets a few years back.
Am I the only one disappointed that there don't appear to be any Harry Potter characters in the movie? Collecting the Harry Potter sets was kind of an obsession I had as a kid in the early noughties.
Odd, certainly not. I completely understand why they're not showing up, but that doesn't make it any less disappointing. I think Star Wars especially since it's been one of their bigger licensed properties for years now I think.
I really hope that if this movie does well, Disney and WB can maybe come to an agreement that'll let them show up in the theoretical The LEGO Sequel.
The reason FOX went apeshit over the villain of The Muppets wasn't because he was a Corrupt Corporate Executive. It's because he wanted to drill for oil.
Which is quite frankly one of the oldest clichés in underdog stories so I dunno what the fuck Fox News thought they were accomplishing by taking The Muppets to task for it.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.I think it's kind of ironic how protective Disney is of their brand and yet how completely willing they are to borrow pay tribute steal the licenses of other characters and claim it for themselves. For instance, Wreck It Ralph nor Who Framed Roger Rabbit wouldve been nearly as appealing without the cameo characters. And yet the idea that they won't even share two of Lego's most popular brands just seems horribly pretentious.
.....OR maybe they weren't even approached and Warner just wanted to devote more time to their own crew. I don't know.
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.Disney has turned into the Princess Morbucks of the animation industry. They believe since they came first, have more profit, and have their own theme park, they're entitled to do whatever the fuck they want to any property as long as they feel that's what gets kids to come to them and put their father's money in their pocket.
In short: FUCK YOU, DISNEY CHANNEL! AND BEYOND!!!
Wyldstyle is certainly an........... unconventional name! Wonder how they ever thought of it.
I guarantee that "Everything Is Awesome" will become an Ear Worm because it sounds SO........ you can guess which adjective!

Wyldstyle is more hip, 'cause they're done with the kidz and their hippity-hop.
Actually, I've read that there is some Star Wars cameos in the movie.

I'm already tempted to buy the movie soundtrack just for that song alone.
Largely in part so I can sing more than just the first three lines.
EDIT:
I guess it's better than nothing.

Is the soundtrack already out!?
Went searching and all I found was a looped instrumental track that plays on the movie's official website, called "Emmett's Morning".
I guess it isn't out yet!
