So like the title says, it's a space opera and a comedy. The story's called "Jupiter Jones: Space Pirate", and it's basically about a guy from the future who's obsessed with old timey stories about pirates, so he decides to become one, with a parrot, and eyepatch, and ,of course, a piratey accent. So he heads off into space in a broken down spaceship that looks like a gold human skull with rockets in the back. And the rest of the story's just him going trough space and all the aliens he encounters, some of which wind up becoming his crew. I really prefer the aliens be as weird as possible, no rubber forehead aliens in this story! But that's pretty much all I have so far, but I know it should be very far to the Idealistic side of the sliding scale, because I'm tired of cynical, dystopian science fiction. This story will be light, optimistic, and there are to be no morals or life lessons, it's purely escapism. I'm still in the early stages of developing the story, but I know I don't have the talent to draw the thing, so does anyone else want to? I don't have any money, but if the comic is a success somehow I promise to split the profits with the artist 50/50.

Learn to draw the thing. There are a lot of people with webcomic ideas and no people who want to draw.

Yeah, sorry, but ideas are cheap. Everybody and their dog has an idea for a webcomic, and drawing takes time and effort. The amount that would go into drawing one is too much to expect a person to donate for the hazy promise of 'half the proceeds if it makes money'.

I agree with the sentiments of the above responses, but I'd like to be positive and encouraging. If you have an idea for a comic, go ahead and make the art yourself. You might not think much of your own drawing skills, but if you just go ahead and do it, you will improve over time, and build up a valuable skill in yourself. The most important thing about comics is the writing, not the art - just look at xkcd. You can go a long way starting with mediocre artwork if you have a good premise and writing.

If you really don't want to draw, try something else to make artwork. 3D rendering. Or take photos of toys.

The important thing is to go ahead and MAKE YOUR COMIC. Don't get hung up on waiting for someone to volunteer to do your drawing for you.

Ideas are, as the above responder said, a dime a dozen. What's rare is the person who goes ahead and does something with their idea. Be that person, and you'll achieve something.

Also look at Schlock Mercenary. The art in that at the beginning is, frankly, kind of awful. But it improved a lot, it's been running for a really long time and it's successful. Howard Taylor just bit the bullet and learned to draw.

I remember hearing that Howard was one of those people who started writing comics and wanted to find an artist, and eventually he realized that wasn't going to happen so he started to draw himself. He said he regretted not starting to draw sooner.

Keep in mind there's like a bajillion free pose resources out there. Folks on Deviantart offer up free photo references of lots of poses, and there's places like stockphoto. For the love of God, use them. They're free.

Also draw things around your house for practice. Helps when you attempt to draw comic backgrounds.
