No? Those two operate at different levels.
The movie orchestrated this point pretty clearly. At the start, the Gangreen Gang were the biggest threats in town, and then the girls and Mojo showed up and changed game.
Or the episode of the show where they prank call other supervillains and get absolutely beaten up for it. There was also a late season episode where they have to team up with Sedusa to become a threat because they have no ambition on their own.
Even there’s the episode where they had temporary power for the food they ate at the mart and after the girl shot lasers at them, they gained powers of their own. Gorillaz is fine with the lineup it has since it began but a lot of gangs loose members. The GGG should be flexible with having 4 members. To name a few quintets that are now quartets are The Rolling Stones, Barenaked Ladies, and One Direction. Even The Wiggles started out as a quintet and The Beatles but Phillip Wilcher was away while the band recorded their next album and Stuart Sutcliffe wanted to spend time with his fiancé. At least Ace shouldn’t be a Pete Best to the group.

I don't think Gorillaz would be directly mentioned in the new reboot of the Powerpuff Girls - just have Ace saying that he's a on-off-again member of some alternative music band.
I meant to say that Gorillaz should compose the theme music for Craig's Powerpuff Girls reboot, and maybe make an accompanying music video to promote it.

But still, I prefer in Hustlecup to have Murdoc be the GGG leader, have Ace appear with Gorillaz instead of GGG, have all GGG members but Ace and have Snake or Big Billy be the leader and challenge Buttercup. More Snake be the leader because Billy is dumb and might act friendly like with Slave the Day.
Speaking of which, I think it would’ve been better for the day to be saved by Billy in the episode.
I don’t know if the Powerpuffs will have their original actresses in the second reboot. Will it will feel more like a revival/sequel show? Will the girls be aged up now? James A Williams says the reboot was terrible. That’s his opinion. Amanda Leighton is probably busy with her life with her Disney work. Maybe we’ll see Ace working in the desert (as pointed out as Murdoc in the Humility MV commentary).

The original V As are definitely coming back. The only question is who they're getting to replace Tom Kane as the Professor. My money is on either Jeff Bennett or David Kaye, but I could be surprised.

Wonder who they'll also get to voice HIM as well. I bet on Brian Hull and Daran Norris.
I've seen Corey Burton, Keith Ferguson, Christopher Swindle, Maurice La Marche, and Daran Norris thrown around for Utonium too.
When asked about it, Craig has said for the Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends
and Powerpuff Girls
reboots/revivals that he does plan to bring as many of the originals back as possible.

I doubt Amanda working on Hailey's On It will be the reason they don't bring her on for the next reboot. Lots of voice actors do voicework in multiple animated shows.
This doesn't mean Amanda will return since Craig made it clear he will try to get as many of the 1998 voices back as possible but just saying I doubt scheduling would be a factor on if they get Amanda on the reboot or not.

I don't know, maybe Ace ran into issues with the band's contract, or something?
Besides, I'm pretty sure this was done because Gorillaz made a cameo appearance via a poster in the Powerpuff Girls movie, both owned by Warner Bros. via their subsidiaries - Cartoon Network and Warner Records.
I wonder if Gorillaz will make a theme song for the new Powerpuff Girls reboot? Would've been dope if that happens.
