If it was just the fourth floor I'd be inclined to have it on Four Is Death, but since there are more than that, Missing Floor is best.
Check out my fanfiction!Okay, this is a bit cumbersome but it's a perfect example of the theme.
EDIT: I'm going to redo this one taking PN Gs to JPG on the final instead of JP Ging the resizes first to see if it makes things any cleaner.
Below: Eva Unit 03note - possessed, goes apeshit.
Anyone seeing a pattern?

Hmmmm...you know, you've got a point. I'm sure that the fact that both Evas that are connected to 4's went disastrously wrong was planned by the creators, but it's not actually addressed in-story and the trope description does stipulate that.
I wonder if we need to do an example cleanup, then...I'm sure that's not the only instance of that in the examples.

Also, I honestly have never seen Neon Genesis Evangelion at all, so not-in-the-image knowledge woudn't help at all.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI find difficult picturing this trope without the current image. Perhaps we could add a scene that plays the trope literally (i.e. a shitennou grouped together, a corpse placed right after a clock indicating it's 4:44, the character shi shown in blood, I dunno; something emong those lines....)
135 -> 180 -> 273 -> 191 -> 188 -> 230 -> 300 -> 3115 is all about the caption. The images aren't telling me anything. I don't know how you would show this. The current looks good for Missing Floor.

I think this scene
would be very appropriate, if only Death appeared in the mirror before the number faded away...
I can't see the number. All of these examples have been relying on understanding the context. How about the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse? Way too many examples to only suggest one, but here's a pic: [1]

That works. I see four and I see death, at least in two or three of them. The White Stallion traditionally carries a savior.
We do have a trope Horsemen of the Apocalypse, by the way.
As for this one, the problem is that this as-is is Japanese stuff. The apocalyptic horsemen would not fit.

I get two "page not found"s, no idea why. Can you upload them elsewhere, maybe?
Could we put 13 on Horsemen of the Apocalypse? It looks so much better than the current.
OK, my stance:
- Keep the image on Missing Floor, pull it from here.
- Make a thread on Horsemen of the Apocalypse for a discussion about replacing it with 13.
- No to all the suggested images. There is more to this trope than "4 is coincidentally associated with death here". Ironically, Neon Genesis Evangelion is the closest example so far, but it's almost entirely in the caption.

Four Is Death has the same image as Missing Floor. Obviously, this fits much better on Missing Floor. Not only is it clearly about missing floors, it has both 4 and 13. Surely we can find something else for Four Is Death?
