Thanks for the Diddy/Cranky headers. I figure Cranky is boss at speedrunning, too. Infinite rolling jump-bounces seems a tad bit overpowered for that.
Just cleared out all of Autumn Heights.
As it turns out I was right- Bopopolis is basically 1-K from Returns with less platforms. It's also my favorite level so far- the amounts of Banana Coins and extra lives (especially towards the end with extra lives) is just a small bonus.
The fire level in the Savannah area is pretty special, if only for the music and the ambiance. The underwater silhouette level with the electric seaweed and the luminescent fish is pretty amazing to look at too.
By the way, I was watching a walkthrough, and I seriously can't believe you have to go backwards through the level after opening a door to find the secret exit in Deep Keep. I had a feeling I was missing SOMETHING.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectTriple Trouble, so far, has been one of the most irritating boss fights. Good grief, it took me so many tries to beat.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectYeah, that G in Panicky Paddles is annoying. It doesn't help that every time you fail it, you have to do the underwater segment again and get the N, which is easy but very time-consuming.
Just doing a roll-jump off of the paddle to the left of the G's paddle works, though. It took me many tries in my regular playthrough, but on Hard Mode I got it on the first try thanks to foreknowledge.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
The trick to the flying penguins part is to rush it, and know where you can get away with low bounces (high ones delay you too much to reach the Waldough if you constantly do them.)

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaUpdating to say i did need Dixie in the end. Too many processes-per-second on having a split second to decide "high jump or not" on the flying penguins.
Bopopolis proved a good training ground for getting that pesky N in "Meltdown Mayhem" that i was having trouble with, and ultimately abandoned, on my first run through. 6-K seems pretty fun, especially since they give you a helper barrel and the stage seems almost designed deliberately to be approachable with each, rather than vastly favoring one over the others.
Luckily i've saved world 1 for last. Last and easiest is always good.
6-K is fun except for the Hot Hootz. I HATE those enemies, they always seem to shoot their fire right when you're in no position to dodge, or are on a moving platform that moves you right into it.
The bigger owl enemies look like Wilford Brimley, don't they?

The audience wants gorillas!
Then again, sales have been so bad that ANY increase would be impressive.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectAye, 180% of Wii U's sales levels is still not that much.
It does help prove that the console itself is not undesirable, just lacking in software.
Nintendo's troubles pale in comparison to my own as i struggle to wrap my brain around world 7's minecart level. I have so much trouble even getting to the damn cart, the way the beginning of the level is structured. It's just mean, especially given that you know the cart itself is going to be death after death in an endless trial-and-error phase.
The other stage, with the clouds, is actually very manageable. I'd call it fairer than 7-1 by a good stretch, as 7-1 was pure trial-and-error in a lot of places.
Okay, I just got my hands on Tropical Freeze earlier today and I must say, it's pretty great! Using Dixie and Cranky took me some getting used to, but the controls feel so much better here than in Returns, it's almost crazy!
Dixie completely outclasses Dixie when you get used to her, other than the rare scenario where Diddy is more useful (either because of underwater boosts or how he's easier to use without bashing into that spike above you).
Glad to see yet another join in on the Kong-motion. And yes, the game is just as balls-bustingly difficult as Returns.

I had trouble with Cranky at first, but I got the hang of him by the tailend of World 2.
I beat Hard Mode in its entirety as Cranky, complete with all blue KONG letters (Even that godawful G in Panicky Paddles, on the first try no less). Was pretty awesome. And yes, Cranky has his own boss-pummeling animation.
