Okay, here's the run down, Eddie restored the examples on True Art Is Angsty, with the condition we clean-up the complaining so it can be locked and new examples monitored like we do with Complete Monster.

So, I'm posting here for help on that.

Asked for a move to the Long Term/Perpetual forum, as that's where threads with no expected closing point go.

I'll try to hit some of the examples if I have time.

Hmm...what exactly needs to be cleaned up?

Don't know, Eddie just said there's a lot of complaining. I haven't interacted with him enough over site issues to know what he thinks constitutes complaining.

There's a bit of gushing for Darker and Edgier works, too. Some examples I've looked at are "This is real art because all the characters are flawed, etc." I don't understand why this isn't In Universe Examples Only, especially since out-of-universe/Real Life critiques on works are not what the trope is about. I'm sure this has been discussed in the YMMV tab.

[up] I was thinking the same thing. By the trope's very nature, it's based on opinion. Art and angst can be very subjective, so there's nothing stopping people from gushing or complaining. This should be In-Universe examples only.

No, the other one.

I only skimmed the page, but I think there were a few "this creator has done several works, but the most critically acclaimed one is the angstiest one". More or less. Is that something that should be on the page or not?

You should ask Eddie, but a previous comment made by him on Ask The Tropers makes me think that he wants the True Art examples to be In-Universe only.

I think the page examples should be In-Universe, and "Real Life" examples only in YMMV tab of work pages.

[up] That would seem to be the best course of action.

I would also agree with that.

Was anything done here because the page isn't locked.

Nothing, as far as I know.

Got this done a while ago, so locking.
