Hey, same here.
For years I kinda struggled with what my viewpoints are in terms of value and politics. Ever since I started to have an interest in politics - which was about fifteen years ago - I've always identified myself as a conservative. Despite that, I've been always called a far-left liberal due to supporting few ideas that are considered "unconservative," like gay marriage and other LGBT rights, social welfare such as universal medicare, and taxing megachurches. It doesn't help that I hate alt/far right with a burning passion.
So I settled with the title centre/moderate-right.

Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.I guess I myself am a left leaning centrist. I've called myself a conservative to see what people's reactions are. Not pretty, if your wondering
I've been persecuted by the mods and others on this wiki for my views, so I've decided to stay out of political discourse, even though it's my hobby.

Merry Chriztmaz ya filthy animals!Well hello fellow non homogeneously left-leaning people! I'm curious as to everyone's opinions regarding the ongoing primary now that NH has officially kicked it off? I consider myself a classical liberal with some social democrat leanings, so ideally Bill Weld would sweep the Republican Primary and become next president (I know, I know, no chance in hell that's happening) but I'd like to get people's opinions?
"Sometimes the scandal is not what law was broken, but what the law allows." - Edward SnowdenYeah I like a lot of Klobuchar's policy points, compared to the rest of them. I'd somewhat begrudgingly vote for Pete if it came down to it, but if Sanders or Warren gets the nom, there's gonna be some serious soul-searching involved. I find myself unable to vote for Trump for a myriad of reasons and I don't know nearly enough about who is actually running for the LP nom to go ahead and throw my support there, but I really do not like populism and populist rhetoric, which turns me off Bernie (before we even get to the self-avowed socialism) and Warren is basically just Bernie for thinky people. It actively stresses me out sometimes watching all this play out.
"Sometimes the scandal is not what law was broken, but what the law allows." - Edward SnowdenYeah. I used to be an ardent Republican, but Trump made me do some soul searching as well, but I can't support the modern Democratic Party, either.
The only Democratic candidate I like is Gabbard, but I don't even know if she's still in the race. I don't know enough about Klobuchar or Steyer to really have an opinion on them.
That happened a lot after the 2016 election. I don't care. I was registered to vote in Texas at the time, it's not like Texas was gonna give electors to anyone other than Trump (save for the one faithless elector who voted Ron Paul). I don't buy into the whole "wasted vote" nonsense. The only wasted vote is a vote you give "for the lesser evil."

It all depends on the candidate who is running on a 3rd party ticket for me. I mostly like Gary Johnson, despite his Aleppo moment, and I really like Bill Weld, so I proudly cast my ballot for them 4 years ago. I'm not as up-to-date on who is up for the nom this time round though. I heard Lincoln Chafee was gunning for it, and I have quite a bit of respect for him, so we'll see I guess, but I'm not particularly hopeful. It seems to be coming down to a choice between a Republican Populist vs. a Democrat Populist, and I'd rather just see what people's policies are and vote based on that. But it's not like the election committees are calling me up to ask my opinion on all this.

The sad fact is that there could be a real convo about race and policing, but know it's gonna get drowned out in "ORANGE MAN BAD! HE STARTED IT".
There could be a real opportunity for change and they will blow it.
Again, Trump isn't the best here, but it takes two to tango. I don't see any of Trump's critics or opponents trying to be the better person.
I tried to walk like an Egyptian and now I need to see a Cairo practor....

While it is good to keep on politics, I do think people should let people (white people included) take a break from it. Because getting bombarded with it isn't healthy. I also think Black people too can take a break from politics because you do need escapism in order to reel yourself in from all the issues.
I'm shocked to say this but I liked things better when Obama was in charge. Sure, his policies weren't very good, but he's much more personable than Trump, and I could actually watch non-Fox news channels without feeling like I want to die from all the negativity.

The legend has returned.

This has been one hell of a circus.
