It’s the “winged heart over triangles” symbol we see in various places in the game itself, although it’s called “the Delta Rune” when referred to that way. That symbol is also in Undertale and has the same name there.

she/her/hers | Troper WallSo as someone who still thinks Kris is the Knight and it's a collective identity thing, there's this video that has the similar train of thought but also added in things I didn't consider.
Like how 8-bit Kris being a seperate entity from Kris could be a hint towards the Knight's true nature, and that the Knight MIGHT actually be Kris's future self.
I did consider the possibility that the game's events have already happened but damn, I didn't know the crystals showed ominous things like Susie glaring angrily at Kris.
Interesting.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"There's a theory that proposes the Shadow Crystals might show an alternate reality, if not the events of how thing should be going in the original prophecy. Susie looking at Kris angry, and Noelle whispering something to them would make sense if we assume it's a reality where Noelle ended up becoming the 2nd hero and Susie remained an enemy. And yet, Kris seemingly having no hand when the glass reflects on them has 2 different readings:
Either Kris has no hand or loses it in that reality, or Kris in it is not the 1st first hero, and is thus not there.
The video also reminded me of something surrounding "UNUSED" that people often ignore. In the context Spamton "channels" them, is when speaking of fears. Kris' fears, to be exact:
- Spamton: WHAT ARE YOU AFRAID OF??? ACCORDING TO [[Encyclopedia of]] [[Being Afraid]]THERE'S NOTHING TO FEAR EXCEPT...Unused (through Spamton): ... can anyone hear me? Help...Spamton: HUH??? WHAT?? NO, I DIDN'T HEAR ANYTHING JUST NOW!!!... BUT IT SOUNDED LIKE THEY WERE TALKING TO YOU.
Edit: Spamton also never brings up this exchange again if you press it...
EDIT 2: It's also possible Spamton speaks of something the player/SOUL should be afraid of. Though if you ask me, I lean heavily with the first interpretation given Spamton (in the normal route at least) is unaware Kris & the SOUL aren't the same entity.

I was thinking the crystals break through the Dark World illusion to show what the place actually is. Using one in Chapter 1 and 2 tell you that for a glimpse you saw the classroom and computer lab.
Odd how you CAN'T check spam these crystals. If you check it once, then every other time after that, it won't let you see through it again. I think if you reopen the save file that you can check again. But you can check the phone a billion times and its always the same.
Before Chapter 3, I thought that voice was Dess and she was trapped.

-Witty line-Having now made it to the Knight battle, holy Hell, yeah, I’m consistently getting my ass kicked the first time they use it. I’ve mostly got the hang of the other one you mentioned, though.
I have the same interpretation of the Shadow Crystals and their function in the Dark Worlds. Don’t really know what a think about their function in the Light Worlds, though.

she/her/hers | Troper WallSo Undertale Yellow had a small update little over a week ago.
Didn't think it was still getting updates.
Oh shit, people complained about it so much that they had to nerf it? GOOD. That attack fucking SUCKED to deal with. It was so disorienting trying to watch the pattern, moved way too fast, and was basically my run killer when trying to take on the Knight. So glad they toned it down.
So another theory about the Knight that I have.
There is essentially a triad here for the side of “good”: Kris, who is acting as the body; the Soul, who controls them; and Gaster, who is allowing for the connection. In a sense, Deltarune is the exploration of the connection between the player and the player character.
In Undertale, Flowey acts as an Evil Counterpart thanks to his knowledge of saving and loading, which were the RPG concepts that Undertale focused on. So what if Deltarune did something similar with exploring the player-PC connection? Where the Knight, rather than just being Dess, is her body controlled by a second Soul? Someone with darker intentions and with a benefactor who is more malicious than Gaster?
There is a theory that the intro actually has two mysterious voices; the one that helps you build your vessel and the one that discards it. Perhaps that second voice is related to your theory.
Suddenly I'm... still rotating Fallen London in my mind even though I've stopped actively playing it.Well, turns out that was a PC-only bug that just got fixed. When those things showed up, you were supposed to see static instead.

No wonder I didn’t know what that was when I saw people post it. I played on Switch (1 and 2).

Not by name, but I remember a bit where Susie accidentally mentions "us three" and starts talking about Ralsei indirectly by saying he's from another school out of town.
Don't remember anything to do with Asriel, though.
...oh yeahhhh, that was it.

I remember being dumbfounded that Toby went that that far for the metaphor.
