They're dumb kids. Like all dumb kids, they think they're invincible. Only they think they're actually invincible because they've been given superpowers and all they hear is "This is an excuse for me to use my super powers and channel all the aggression I've been bottling up for how my life went to shit."
My various fanfics."Tales of the Monkey Queen" Chapter 84 on AO3.
In which we kinda sorta contradict the last two posts we made but, hey, watcha gonna do?
I mean, my point still stands.
EDIT: Half of it, at least.

My various fanfics. For some reason, I had a flash of a dumb idea in which Cell ends up in the world of Worm.
Now, the thing is, the main character of Worm controls bugs. Cell is a bug. Hilarity Ensues as she tries to remain a hero while Cell is trying to find a way to get out of her control, kill her or turn her into the next Dr. Gero.
Because the world of Worm is one of those grimdark settings where crack is doubly effective.

himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimari"Tales of the Monkey Queen" Chapter 85 on AO3.
In which we get a little android action.

That'd be a neat crack idea. Mainly because of the inherent humor in Cell being totally under the control of someone else.
It really needs to be crack because Cell is just way too far above the power curve with 1 or 2 notable exceptions.
Also you're totally right about crack being more entertaining the darker the setting.
The idea is a very cracky premise to begin with - that's not how Taylor's power works per se, but I think I can bullshit out an excuse anyway.
And yeah, there are one or two things out there that are legitimate threats to Cell in that world, and a few more that could potentially be a threat to him if they prepare really well and/or get really, REALLY lucky, but Taylor, who would not know how strong and durable he is and is very smart and cautious, would likely save his bacon from a few of those, like Bakuda's more bullshit nonsensical bombs.
I've got several ideas for how it could go, from different points in time, but it would take too much effort to play it seriously.

"Tales of the Monkey Queen" Chapter 87 on AO3.
In which things go kinda poorly for everyone.
"Tales of the Monkey Queen" Chapter 88 on AO3.
In which we all hail Super Vegeta.
After the Namek Saga, Vegeta threw his Saiyan armor into the sun, because it represented his time serving under Freeza, as the armor belonged to the PTO more than it did to the Saiyan people. After that he started wearing regular workout clothes, until Panchy gave him a gi that she'd made him as a gift, which he still wears, because no one gives him gifts and he appreciates it.
All of this.
All of this was covered. In detail. Almost ten chapters ago.
It's like you don't even read it at all.
And I feel insulted.

Ten chapters ago is ten weeks ago.
I can't even remember ten chapters ago in my own fics.
...Although granted my update pace is a lot slower than yours, but. Still.
vegeta you have no room to talk
Yeah, I sorta assumed they invented it themselves.

No, the armor that Saiyans wore before they were conscripted by Freeza is what Cabba wears now.
That is the joke, yes.

My various fanfics.Yes, but remember when I said that I stopped reading when they started making arbitrary changes, no matter how small?
Because it starts with an arbitrary 'small detail' here and there, and then some time later you've got stuff that clashes with canon for no reason other than Author Appeal and cannot be explained through the Nail that was inserted into the story.
For Want Of A Nail can justify many changes - but when it can't, you just look like a hack writer.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariOh my God, you're right. Vegeta putting on a different fucking pair of pants desecrates the entire Dragon Ball canon. I'm a goddamn hack. I guess I should just blow my fucking brains out.

My various fanfics.

Probably but they don't. They thought they could handle Cell in canon, they think they can handle Cell here. Especially since they essentially never stopped being teenagers after they were forced onto the streets.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!
