Meandering outros that take up nearly half the song, and that aren't remotely as listenable as the musicians think. (I'm looking at you, "Abacab.")

Fade out song outros must all perish. All of them. No exceptions.

Songs that have a lot of build up, then totally disregard it in the chorus. This is especially aggravating when they just throw in a beat lazily instead. Oh, and beats in general where they don't belong.

Deep into that darkness, peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.

Overly emotional power ballads. Wrecking Ball made me so damn angry. Oh, and insipid power songs with no beat or drive to back them up (yes, I mean you, Roar)

Those weren't power ballads. They're bubble-gum pop at best.

The lyrics of most (if not all) pop songs (love song lyrics .etc.) They make me quite angry. (I know this is a bit ironic coming from someone who listens to music about Wearing your Viking helmet with honour and pride.) I just think it is so dull and insipid.

My big one is falsetto on male singers, coupled with melismas. Jason Derulo does it, it drives me nuts.

Another is excessive, audible breaths. I recall Kelly Clarkson doing it a lot. It bothers me less now, but Kelly Clarkson still annoys me.

Any music with screaming in it. I can't stand even the supposedly "softer" metal because it just sounds like "ARRRARARAHRAHRARHARAHRARHARAHRRRRRARHGH FUCKETY FUCK FUCK FUCKING FUCK FUCK OF FUCKINGNESS" to me.

The lack of bagpipes in rock music. Look, rock music is all about being loud and in-your-face. (OK, not really, but just go along with me.) There is no instrument louder and more in-your-face than the bagpipes. It is the loudest instrument out there. Rock music should be all over the bagpipes. But aside from some Irish/Celtic rock bands, and a few metal bands (which, sadly, I'm unable to listen to because I hate metal), they just don't show up very often.

More bagpipes in rock music, dammit!

Near-rhymes and non-rhymes. It's not as easy to rhyme in English as, say, Italian or Spanish, but it only takes a little effort. Put in the damned mini-effort.

[up] Ah. I suppose it depends on how good those near-rhymes are. A bunch of them are quite bad, but there also some good gems.
