But seriously, hearing Ryuko speak Japanese for the first time in four years was music to my ears.

Arena fighter? You mean like the various Jump games?

I should immediately downgrade my excitement to zero, huh?

They confirmed Season 2 isn't happening. Although the game is apparently going to have an original story by the series writer, focusing on Satsuki (Who they said was actually stronger than Ryuko by the end of the series). And we're apparently going to get to see Junketsu's Ultimate Form.

Why do people want a Kill la Kill sequel? It ended fine the way it was.

Now Panty & Stocking Season 2, on the other hand...

The idea that Arena fighters have to be inherently inferior to traditional ones because they aren't as complex mechanically is dumb. The fun factor is what matters most.

It's just that anime arena fighters are a dime a dozen.

And most get a mediocre reception.

As for why people wanted more KLK, same reason De Marco and the Toonami crew moved heaven and Earth to get their FLCL fanfic animated. They liked it and want more, even when it doesn’t make a lot of sense.

CC 2's arena fighters aren't considered mediocre.

If all of them were mediocre, people would hate on Power Stone.

People want more KLK because KLK is well-loved and memorable. Fans however forget that the story is actually very cruel and harsh, and the characters' roles and personalities are the result of a corrupt social system, which aren't supposed to be appealing.

KLK is an over the top action show so you wouldn't really know that.

If the plot of the game is allegedly original, then there might be something about Satsuki's Life Fiber infusion not kicking until later in life. That might explain Junketsu Shinzui's inclusion in the game.

Wait. Satsuki has that as well? I thought it was just Ryuuko. I mean, it would explain why she was even able to use Junketsu (since it should be impossible for a 100% human), but I was under the impression they never did any experiments on Satsuki.

Yep. And when it seemingly didn't work on Ryuko she tossed her aside like trash, but it manifested later in life.

The Second opening even had a Kisaragi mode for Junketsu that never made it into the show. I could see it appearing in the games alternative story.

We're getting a demo of the game at EVO. Huh, its very rare for an arena fighter to even be at EVO unless its a side event, and even then its rare.

Ahh right. That might explain it.

If it's a new story, that means they could create an OC villain for the game as well.

Inferno Cop for guest Fighter.

Hopefully a villain that's not as lame and aggravating as Ragyo.

It's a PS4 exclusive and an arena fighter? Lame, lame, lame! I was hoping for a Devil May Cry-alike. On my beloved Switch.

Because the story is ridiculously badass and imaginative, and the characters are very likable. When you have a story as cool as Kill la Kill, you just want more and more! Or I do, at any rate.

But anyway, I'm really glad this topic got bumped because I have something to say. Remember my old theory about how KlK takes place in a world where women are the dominant gender? I have discovered proof!

According to lore, Gamagoori is the son of a Japanese woman and an American soldier stationed in Japan. The two have not lost contact, and Gamagoori even corresponds with his father. And yet he has his mother's name! In this world, men take their wives' last names!

(Unless his father is Japanese-American which isn't too unlikely but shh, let me have my theory.)

@Beatman 1 Sadly, that's not happening.

Knowing how the series rolls, it'll be another Go Nagai homage design, (Ragyo was heavily based on Silene from Devilman) maybe something inspired by Sister Jill. That being said, the Tweet thread said the Japanese name of the game translates to Alternate Thread, so maybe it's a retelling of the main plot with Satsuki as the hero.

Ok, I laughed at their answer. Inferno Cop is 2D dammit and that's the way he will remain.

I can understand why they went a 3D fighter and there have been plenty of good arena fighters, thus why they keep making them.

PS 4 and PC. That's not "exclusive".
