I may have seen Ben & Me on Disney Channel back in the 90s.
The part where the mouse is fixing Ben's glasses def seemed familiar to me.
Like creepy stories? Check out my book!If you ever wanted to see some lyrical depictions of "bad endings/what-ifs" for some of your favorite Disney ladies, Lydia the Bard just uploaded an Alice-based song "I Only Paint In Red Now"
Belle Villain Song "Tale as Old as Time"
Cinderella Villain Song "So this is love?"
Tinkerbell Villain Song "Fall Little Wendy Bird Fall" and this one is my personal favorite.
They're all mini fanfic/vignettes of what if something went wrong. And the artwork is haunting.

Late, but my library had a VHS of Ben and Me when I was a very little kid and I distinctly remember borrowing it at one point.
Because of that, I immediately recognized Ben and Amos when they appeared in Once Upon a Studio. 😅
"Hey, least I didn't lose all my artistic talent when I crash landed in the arena here."More fanmade Disney song content
The table scene, they freaking nailed the live-action version of this.
I liked the Nate Wants To Battle version, but this one has the quieter monologue from Elsa in the beginning. Still haven't seen Frozen but I've heard this song 20 times.

In hindsight, if someone read Ego's review on the restaurant without the context of the movie, it will come out as a bit pretentious even if it's positive.
Also I refuse to believe the only staff in the kitchen are Remy, Colette and Linguini. And it's even implied the rats aren't cooking.

I always thought that was interesting about Ego. He's extremely pretentious, and even after his epiphany he doesn't really let go of that pretentious nature.
There's a vague sense that Ego still doesn't entirely get what Gusteau was trying to show people (but that's okay, because Remy and Linguini do), but he's at least let go of the belief that his preconceptions can never be wrong, and the steps he's taken to open his mind even the amount he has are enough to make himself and others happier.
I like it when Pixar does that, because most animated movies don't. They also did what with Bob Parr, establishing in the sequel that just because he's had an epiphany about his selfishness that doesn't mean he's now a completely unselfish person, and that he still has to work at it.

I think it's a misreading too. The implication I got from that scene wasn't that Ego was specifically only enjoyed food like his mother's, but that Remy's cooking took him back to a point where he wasn't so judgmental and was capable of enjoying life.
Tbh, I think the reading that he only liked it because it was like his mother's food completely misses the message of the scene, and really the movie as a whole. It bugs me that it made its way onto our trope page.

I always thought it was the fact that he was given ratatouille that reminded him of his mother's cooking, as—like Colette said—it's a "peasant dish" and likely something he'd last eaten as a child, before becoming a fancy-shmancy food critic, not that it tasted exactly like something she'd made. And being reminded of his childhood, before he was jaded and could enjoy something like ratatouille, is what turned him around.

So what's on everyone's watch or rewatch list as this isn't for a particular Disney show?
Been getting into Alice's Wonderland Bakery, Star Wars Young Jedi Adventures and keep up with Spidey and His Amazing Friends.
Also Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur.
Still need to check out Tangled and Big Hero 6 (movie and show)
Also another rebinge of The Owl House and The Ghost & Molly Mc Gee. Nice for Halloween viewing.
Was anyone else a little disappointed when Big Hero 6 dropped the battle bot angle in favour for Yet Another Superhero Origin Plot? I thought that bit, and the other characters before the fire happened, were much more interesting than the actual superhero stuff.
Hope shines brightest in the darkest timesI also want to rewatch X-Men: The Animated Series sometime soon. That show is good and good for you. ![]()

I knew about Ben and Me cause it was in a book of Disney stories I had.
The Protomen enhanced my life.
