I guess this is something we may have to agree to disagree, not to mention, as I said a lot of this is YMMV.
And to follow up on the Cassie question, I'm still bothered that for all the diversity YA had, there's still only two female characters. I think Spider-Girl could fit in there perfectly. And also, how old is Shuri/Black Panther II? If she's a teen/young adult, she could be on the team as well.
Well know the Marvel LGBT characters calender is well and truly fucked.
spoiler: This is not a bad thing.
"You are never taller then when standing up for yourself"Yep. That was interesting. Kate's the only straight one (and America doesn't think Kate's that straight, either).
Also: That last page. Feels. So many feels.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.Well, America come from a world of all lesbian women, right? Maybe she only perceives Kate as non straight because this is her default. Sorta like most people assume others are straight when there is no evidence of the contrary.
That said, now that the YA are officially the queerest team of Marvel, maybe Hawkeye should go "experimenting" to not feel left out.
Anyway, yeah, good last issue and excellent last page. I feel the whole 'not-patriot' deal was kinda rushed out but I am overall very happy with this run. That issue made me, again, sad there is no planned Young Avengers for this year, though. I too want to know.
Well, a bunch of new stuff's being announced. Iron Fist, Doop, the return of Peter Parker... don't cross the YA off the list yet.

America comes from a world of all women, yeah. A world of princesses, in fact. Even so, I think she was just trolling Kate. Although America is pretty sexy, so I can't say I'd be surprised if Kate checked her out a bit.
At least Kate's not the only straight one any more. Not now that Tommy's back.
I would like to see a new volume of Young Avengers fairly soon. Preferably with America still on the team, because she's awesome. She's become one of my favourite characters.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics. And so they can become the token straight couple. Perfect.
Agreed. She is the best addition to the teamnote , so I hope she stays. Specially because I hope this run become part of the YA "in continuity". I would hate to see it becoming all but ignored.
I hope you are right.

They were suited for Battle Royale because they were created for Battle Royale and never feature anywhere else but Battle Royale. I think you misunderstand what I mean "well suited" for the genre. A carbon copy of Mettle could be appropriate in Arena. But not Mettle himself, because he was already a main character in a book that wasn't all that 'gritty' and 'realistic'.
Mettle was a character with his fans, and his fans liked him because of the book and the story he used to be in. The complete tonal shift is simply abrupt and not much appropriate.
