Oh the other side of the Pacific, we have argument on Kanji!Mikasa or Phonic!Mikasa. The author state Mikasa's namesake is the warship Mikasa, who's name is written in kanji. However, Mikasa in the manga is written in kana. The official translation is Phonic!Mikasa while the scans of Fantasy Unicorn Brigade is Kanji!Mikasa. As for subs, there is no official subs. The team put fansub file on official tape (under an agreement), who used Kanji!Mikasa. There is a small paragraph on Wikipedia on this.

I think it's best to follow the official translation vetted by Kodansha. I think the English (or American) edition is done by Kodansha US division.
I think it was also Kodansha who did a beautiful bilingual edition of Card Captor Sakura.

I'm liking it a lot so far, but I hope they don't try for humor as much from here on out. Sasha was alright in the third episode, but a lot of the humorous moments in this one fell flat to me. I like it more when it's focusing on the drama.
I do like that Eren recognizes that not everyone is cut out for fighting the Titans and that they shouldn't be ashamed of it, but that cowards who have no concern for the wellbeing of others have no place in their society.

Crunchy shifts the simulcast's upload time by a few hours earlier...but doesn't do the same to the eps everyone are allowed to see. Funi actually beat them in that area by an hour (and it's probably safer to go with Funi's subs anyway if you're in the US since the chance of a dub depends on how many watch it).
...if I accidentally cause another debate by saying this, I sincerely apologize.
I've also heard that Funi's subs are better than CR's. Unfortunately, Funi's only available for folks in the US and Canada.

They change a couple names from the official translation (Survey Corps to Scouting Regiment, and Sasha's last name to Braus), but it flows a bit better this way I think.

Noticed one mistake myself: When Hannes comes up and talks to them in that 'wow, look how much you've grown' scene, there's one shot where his jacket has the Wing emblem instead of the Rose one.

It is so obvious that everyone was talking about it in the Chinese forum. That poster is watching the episode frame by frame. He said it took him about five hours...

I am assuming he watched it at normal speed before watching it frame by frame.
Wit Studio should hire him or her as quality control. Makes me wonder if the Korra staff is still shorthanded in that aspect.

Most likely.
There was a tweet last week (I think) from Studio Wit about hiring animators.
Let's hope this means that they are fully aware of all the bloopers in episode 4.
Thankfully, it was still quality enough to get the fandom excited. In terms of generating interest, I think episode 4 is on par with episode 1.
Right now though, I consider 4 as my least favorite, not because of the mistakes but mainly because of all the missing scenes from the manga.
