Wait a minute. For this to really be like Cloud Atlas, don't we have to try to link up every John Ratzenberger character as a reincarnation or something?
And now I just remembered, the credits of Cars had a joke about all the John Ratzenbergers, only they were in Car-ified versions of the Pixar movies. Does that mean it really is a parallel universe, containing its own Car-Pixar? Or did the cars remake everything in their own image when they took over, including all the old movies, and Wall-E's copy of Hello Dolly is even more valuable because of that?

Cars takes place at the beginning of time
I put together my own take on the timeline here

Well I basically decided I couldn't sit and do nothing with Negroni's theory spreading like wildfire to the point of getting comments from a Pixar employee when his theory
pushes things a little too far out there.

It's the internet, people inevitably get Fanon and Canon mixed up. That's no reason not to have fun doing things like this and sharing them with others. Though of course only Disney/Pixar gets to decide what is canon, and so far we've had few if any such crossovers or continuity nods.
(Btw, if we include the Pixar shorts -and we should!- the living toys of Toy Story might be explained as being due to Santa Claus' magic from the Prep and Landing Christmas specials!)

Ok, I know I'm like two years late to the discussion, I just want to add:
I don't think The Pixar Theory to be real and I think some others expalined better than me so I left the links here: Bobsheaux
and Channel Frederator
I think that some of the movies can happen in the same universe, mainly the ones with animals like Ratatoulle, A Bug's Life and Nemo.
Maybe the witch's magic in Brave does can be behind Toy Story's sentient toys.
But that's it. There is no evidence in Toy Story in any of the movies or shorts that animals are sentient, they do interact with lots of animals, so the animals also fake among toys as they do among humans?
The dog's in Up are not really more intelligents, the movie make clear they are as regular dogs, they just have an special machine that read their minds somehow.
The Incredibles and Cars can't share the same universe as the other movies. Cars for obvious reasons, and TI because there is no mention of superhumans in any of the other movies, something that you think will come up. Disregarding the fact that there's even a comic of TI in Nemo.
And of course both Inside Out and the Good Dinosaurs took the theoyr out of the window. Inside Out shows that animals do have feelings but are clearly not as intelligent or complex as humans, and the Good Dinosaur even shows that DINOSAURS DID NO EXTINGUISH. So is clearly another world.
Its less a traditional theory and, more of a creative challenge at this point, as one comment I saw put it. Its more of a 'for fun' thing for the most part. And it can be very fun to connect certain things or make some overarching theme with it.
What I like is both that it does add a little extra when you watch the movies with this perspective, funnily enough...There are people who have kind of grew up with the theory like with Pixar's movies. As it did involve making a new story from it.
Super Carlin Brothers iron will with the theory is also fun both ironically and unironically, its like someone at Pixar could specifically try to destroy the theory but he would find a way. '
Honestly in the same way creepypasta's inspired actual games that have 'Secrets players can find that has a disturbing and creepy route where things are corrupted' as an actual part of the story, like FNAF VR and Deltarune. I kinda hope people start actually making supposedly separate but connected works with some overarching story or characters inspired by Fanon Welding things like the Pixar theory. Novels already do that from what I have read (Hi Stephen King)
Bow to the Prototype
Basically, media fora threads should be for specific works, franchises, brands, or creators. The few that aren't are grandfathered in due to continuous activity.

Or we could just tell everyone to give up on the idea of that ever happening and force them to accept it
