"No, Han, it's a joke. About the stunt show. Because you said 'Cowboys and Ninjas and Pirates,'" Giz explained, gradually. "The only thing worth seeing right now is 'Rocky Horror 2,' and it only plays at midnight."
"And my fake ID got confiscated again," she added, darkly. Life was torture: she was so much more mature than her peers, but a stupid limitation like her physical age meant she couldn't do half the things that went along with that.
To say that everyone was thrilled when the magical girls first started appearing would be a lie. Some were fascinated, others concerned, some were uneasy, others thought that it was the coolest thing ever. The feelings were mixed among the families and the girls themselves. They had not asked for this, how could they handle these new found abilities nothing in life had prepared them for?
Worry increased when girls just vanished off the face of the earth with no explanation. Concern over the girls turned to fear for their lives. That was partly why Atlantis had been built in the first place, surely safety in numbers would put a halt to whatever was causing the disappearances. Especially when those numbers were augmented by forces from the military of various nations. This worked out well for the most part, the girls were safe, the sponsor nations got information, and the local stores got a boost from the influx of teenagers and military personnel.
There were those however, whose reception of the magical girls was more hostile.
Inside the store, Prita and Lyn could not see it, but they could definitely hear the sounds of gunshots being fired. Outside, walking past the hat store, Hannah, Julia, and Giselle both heard and saw the bullets being fired in their direction. Another girl tagging along screamed, the regular people going along the same way froze and looked about frantically.
Men in dark masks carrying rifles leaped out of a car. A few more jumped out from behind the corner. Near simultaneously, they began firing on the Atlantis students.

A burst of golden light with flashes of red surrounded Giz as she transformed, her street clothes replaced by a black toga, bronze armor, and a short red cape after a brief moment of nudity. These transformations had long since stopped bothering her, though it had taken months of getting used to the idea that no one could actually see her through the blinding light. Her spear and shield, both decorated with the barbed three-quarter heart that seemed to be her personal emblem, materialized in her hand.
"Get the gunmen!" she barked, charging toward a man with a rocket launcher, lunging to stop him before he could get a shot off. Th collateral damage would be disgusting if he wasn't stopped immediately.
Giz to 13.02, attack 14.03.
For a moment, it seemed as if the Blue Team was short a girl, but then a figure covered in a gigantic burlap sack and all sorts of grass and assorted foliage and grass stood up, revealing Deliah and an ornate, lovingly cleaned Lee-Enfield. Ditching the improvised ghillie suit (since it was illegal in the first place and no longer funny), she looked left and right, then trundled off on a recon patrol south towards the enemy position.
Deliah moves to 15.07
Prita was just getting ready to leave the hat store when she suddenly felt the now-familiar sensation of her clothes transforming into their magical girl forms. Startled by the change, she looked outside to see some gangsters yelling about how they wanted to kill magical girls.
This time, it wasn't a simulation to get brownie points with the instructors. This time, it was for real.
"Let's go!" she shouted to Lyn. She saw some of her classmates in the street — it would be best if they joined up together and made a formation. She then dashed out of the habardashery and placed herself in the doorway of the next store over, a pizzeria. This gave her a good defensive position, as well as shielded the scared customers inside the store from any stray attacks.
I'm glad I got my hat in time, Prita permitted herself to think for one second, before focusing on the attack to come.
Prita to 09.02, buffing Lyn at 10.03

First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win.Inside the store, Lyn's emitted a glow as she felt her clothes transform into an attire that she had felt herself wearing just the night before. The girl clad in pink rushed out after Prita, readying herself for a fight.
When she went outside, she saw a chaotic riot before her. "Guns and rioters. Just how I like my Saturdays..." Lyn groaned. There were civilians in the line of fire, but she can't help that now. The best she can do is wait for the enemy to get close.

"Why couldn't they have attacked on a school day? Why did it have to be our day off," Hannah said with a frown as things went to hell while she transformed into her costume. "You guys are gonna pay. I want to go to Magic Mountain! Jerks!"
She darted off, "Rrrrrghhhh! You all suck!" she shouted when she stood in the middle of a few of the bad guys - two of whom were being dealt with by Giz and Julia. She was so upset, she didn't even care which one she hit as she swung her sling around and rocketed the shot at one of the aforementioned jerks.

Beach Attack
"Kill the witches!"
With that rally cry, the masked attackers began their attack. Firing wildly into the direction of the girls, they charged across sand and pavement while screaming. Some came directly at the girls, others fired their weapons from over the beach walls separating the sand from the streets.
Giz, attacking from the doorway, actually managed to hit the man's hand, causing him to drop his weapon. He cursed at her, but backed off before grabbing his weapon from the ground and turning and running away.
Lyn and Prita made their way to the pizzaria. The people inside had enough sense to stay where they were, taking cover behind whatever they could. The same could not be said for one of the shoppers at the store they had just come out of, who followed the two magical girls after seeing them transform.
Lyn barely had time to react when a rocket came screaming her way. She disappeared in a cloud of smoke as the rocket found it's mark. Luckily, timely intervention by Prita had kept her from being seriously harmed.
Julia's panicked actions succeeded in making things difficult for both her and her assailant. The wide swings of her spear caused the attacker to leap back at the same time as he fired. The bullet hit Julia's breastplate, where the magical armor prevented it from going any farther but the force of the bullet reverberated across the girl's chest.
Before he could do anything else, Hannah struck, her sling launching a missile that struck the man's shoulder. He turned and fired back, which was met again by the unflinching magical girl. Her next shot struck the man right in the head, causing him lurch back, striking his head on the brick wall behind him and rendering him unconscious.

The dust cleared, and there stood Lyn. The rocket had obviously hit her hard, as she was staggering from the blow, but she still gave Prita a grateful smile to thank her for her help.

"Why does everything have to loop back to YGO?" -Guy who ruined YGOAs the rocket exploded on Giz's shield, the sickle-heart emblem flashed with red light, absorbing the fire and smoke from the attack. A split-second later, there was another flash of red light near the man who'd fired the rocket, and suddenly the fire and smoke were surrounding him, instead. Giz grunted self-righteously, still annoyed with herself for failing to drop her target on the first lunge.
Her first instinct was to go after the nearer rocket launcher, but another girl was already rushing toward him. Beyond him, though, Giz could see another rocketeer heading up from the beach unopposed. It would leave her separated from Hannah and Julia, but it would put her in a good position to take their attackers from behind if the other girls could hold them at the wall.
"Hold steady, I'll be right back!" she shouted at her roommates, and charged for the distant rocketeer.

Carrie had been, predictably, early for the tournament, already clad in her kind of kitschy battle regalia. The blueprints she had been studying heavily detailed concepts she had come up with while sifting through the memories of Curtis, the general who shared her last name. She had ultimately produced a conceptual style of combat where she acted much like a bomber plane, strafing the enemy with massive collateral damage while avoiding retaliation. She hadn't had enough time, enough ability to perfect the model, but she had a crude understanding of what she needed to do. Fly a certain way to increase the power of her thrown bombs. Never give up. How to fly in a formation. So on and so forth.
So when the battle begun in earnest Carrie had nothing to say, nothing even to think. She wasn't much of a tactician when push came to shove and it was showtime, she did what came naturally and trusted her comrades in arms to have a plan of attack that she could follow.
She knew coming in that she was against her own roommate Deliah and fellow underclassman Magda. Two of the most skilled anti-air combatants in perhaps the entire school. If they got in range of her Carrie was probably dead, as her style of flying provided her no protection from weapons designed to shoot things out of the sky. She'd have to be super careful to avoid both of them, stay at a distance, and whittle them down with her style of mobility fighting. Thinking time was over. It was time for action. Carrie smoothly jumped atop her airplane shaped construct, which began to hover of it's own accord. As a girl who had lived inland most her life Carrie had never been surfing. But the way she flew, it looked like she'd be a natural.
Carrie to 01.08
Silva HooooouuuuundUsing Right Intention, Prita donated some of her health to help Lyn absorb the strong blow she had taken. She then watched the other magical girls scatter to engage the enemy as she plotted her next move. If she just moved a bit closer to the melee, she could try taking out one of the long-range guys, or serving as backup to the other magical girls. She became excited at the thought of landing a killing blow...
...and then she looked at the civilians milling about in the shop and along the road. She didn't know why the bastards were targeting them as well as the magical girls, but they also were in danger. And if she left her position, they could be easy targets for an attack, with all the other girls having rushed into the frey.
Oh hell, she thought to herself. I guess I was always meant to be operating behind the lines anyway. So saying, she held her position, while preparing to take out any enemies who might get into the area.
Prita donates 2 health to Lyn, then holds position and heals for a turn. Also buffs the civilian at 08.02 if that can be done while healing — if not, forget it.

Beach Attack
Whatever plan the attackers had, if any, was rapidly unwinding. Lyn and Hannah speedily dispatched nearby gunmen, who were taken out before they knew what hit them. Almost literally in the case of the man Lyn had fought, so fast had she moved the the dust and smoke.
Giz charged a man on the beach, as did Julia. The younger girl's less experience in combat showed as her wild attacks met nothing but air until the gunman managed to hit her right in the leg.
Another man with a rocket launcher took aim from behind the walls boardering the beach and fired at Hannah. The explosion shattered glass and brick at the store entrance, causing bits and pieces to hit the girl in front of the door.
In the pizzeria next door, Prita could see one curious onlooker with little regard for his personal well-being rush towards the battle, cell phone in hand, ready to record everything.

After Lyn took down the rioter with a well-aimed flying kick to the face, she felt strength flowing through her body as her Offensive ability took effect. She clenched her fist with a grin as she savored the feeling. "Wow! That felt good!" She said to herself.
She moved in on her next target, making sure to stop by Hannah and lightly tap her shoulder to give her a bit of a boost on the way. Stepping in front of the man with the RPG, she drew back her fist and launched it at the man before her.

"Why does everything have to loop back to YGO?" -Guy who ruined YGOGiz growled at the world in general, frustrated at bungling another attack that should have been a sure-fire KO. The red flash of her shield as it sent another explosion back at its origin was little comfort this time, and she was more determined than ever to score a real attack. Her assailant was already looking weak, but there were two more men up the beach where Hannah and Julia were, and she charged ahead, screaming a wordless battlecry.
Giz to 14.06, attack 13.05, redirect attack to 15.06 if 13.05 already defeated.
— Takano Akane —
Akane watched as the opposing team began maneuvering. Akane analyzed their movements, before making her own.
"Can you two form up south of me? I'm moving into striking distance of the priority objective. And please remember to keep clear of the... the enemy air unit's striking distance," Akane half requested-half ordered.
The three hadn't really come up with a clear leader before the match, which made giving 'orders' awkward. Akane was also not sure whether to refer to the opposing team by name or by unit type. They weren't 'enemies,' in terms of being 'the enemy,' but there were definitely hostile at the moment.

Georgia moved out and took cover in some nearby trees, ready to take out the first attackers.
