Will I need combat skills? I kinda want to make a stealth/deceit type thing, but I guess I could throw guns in there or something if I need to...

(Why do I always do this?)

It was a difficult delivery, now it's growing up mean and strong.

You're a masochist?

Being a masochist is fun! :D

Indeed.

Btw, do you think it's much of a stretch to make my character's mother old enough to have been there for the founding of Byzantium?

Byzantium was founded in (if I'm remembering my Greek and Roman right) somewhere in the 600s BC, which is roughly 2600 years ago. The average Wizard life span is about 300 (give or take a century depending on their relative power), so it's not likely.

Darn. :c How old do you think I could make her have been at her death without stretching plausibility too much?

I think it depends on how old your character is. I think female wizards lose their ability to bear children way before they come to the end of their life span. Like around their early hundreds or so. But I'm not entirely sure where I got this info from.

My character is in his forties, but I don't know how accurate that info on female wizards is...

I recall Luccio mentioned having to deal with a period in "centuries". Or something. I'm not sure.

Ah. If so, then, yes, she wouldn't be able to have babies. However, neither of you seem confident in that, so I'm not sure that's true, and that might be something more specific to Luccio (like she had surgery to remove that because she got fed up with it or something).

So what's the oldes age you think would be plausible for his mother? (I'm curious for one assuming that lack of babies and one not assuming the lack of babies.)

I keep on picturing my character as a man in his late twenties to early thrities, who resembles Malik from ACI, but his features are slightly more shark like and predatory. If anyone can help me flesh this guy out I'd appreciate it

Do you have a template in mind?

Not Really, though I'm definitely familiar with all of the ones the book offers. I'm not really sure what I want this guy to be.

Hm....Aside from the Appearance, what other things do you know about him? Personality Traits? Quirks? A name even?

Also, who will be playing and when will we be doing the character/city creation session?

Well, I'm probably going to be the DM, and time and place I'd rather discuss with the players.

From personal experience, when you have people from Europe and the US playing in the same game it's usually wiser to do it either Saturday or Sunday around the evening, speaking from European time. That's anywhere from 11 AM to 1 PM American time. Sessions usually last about four hours.

Saturdays and Fridays I've been consistently having off from work, though that is no guarantee that I will continue to get them off. Similarly, Sunday I've been consistently getting the morning shift, which is from 11-3 Mountain Time, and Monday through Thursday I've been consistently getting the evening shift, which is from 5-closing, which is between 11 and midnight, again Mountain time, again potentially subject to change for both. Regardless, I won't be available on the 18th of May, which is a Saturday, as I'll be flying out to Pennsylvania for my brother's graduation.

I've run two tabletop groups (both different systems,) and I find Saturday tends to work better because I don't have to go to school the following day, and generally speaking I've completely trashed my sleeping rhythm from Friday, so I'm able to keep my concentration a lot better (generously helped by sugar) which leads to more interesting resolutions.

Since you're the GM, would you be ok with me having my char's Lore go above Superb if we end up going with something deeper that Feet in the Water to demonstrate how his mother taught him everything she knew that could fit into his first 20 or so years of life?

I -think- you can do that with milestones, but I'll have to consult some FATE wizard about that.

Technically, the upper limits can be set anywhere. They can be set below Superb and they can be, hypothetically, set above Superb. At major enough milestones, the group can agree to raise the limit, but the limit before then can really be anything.

Ah. Well, a Superb lore is still pretty significant. I say we get the group together and talk about stuff like that first. I can be the final arbiter :)
