This is ready to call.

BTW, while we are on the topic, do we really need a fricking 10 paragraph trope description?

Nah, I think some stuff can be moved over to an analysis page.

Also, remind me again: Is this a plain rename?

Last crowner established a "Rename this trope to clarify that it's about America winning WWII" and "super trope for all countries and all wars". The supertrope has been YKTTW'd already, so Our Nation Won The War might be the new entry for misused wicks.

Here is the new trope. It's been over a month since Santos made it, so anyone who is cleaning wicks can dump the examples directly into the trope.

This also means we're finished with deliberation, and only grunt-work is left.

Yeah, because of lack of time as well as the YKTTW issue.

A quick but related matter: might it be the place to add the related, and so far seemingly un-discussed way in which works depicting the War in Europe - both Fronts - almost always show the enemy as the Germans and nobody else? For instance, when was the last time you see the heroes fighting Romanian, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Slovakian, Spanish, Vichy French, Finnish, Italian, or Croatian troops? Usually its always the Wehrmacht.

This is has lasted right from WWII - as the Germans simultaneously ignored their allies' contributions and blamed them for what they got wrong, whilst the Allies preferred people to think they'd only fought the supposedly tougher German units.

This page move still needs to be done.

[up][up] The Italians do very rarely appear as enemies in the European Theater, but the other European Axis forces besides the Germans and Italians don't. Also, the Australians and Canadians (Who are also North American just like the Americans, yet they and Mexico (Another North American country) are almost non-existent in fiction. There is even a trope for this: Canada Does Not Exist) never appear in WWII works despite Australia helping the US in the Pacific Theater and Canada helping in the European Theater.

[up][up] Okay, move is in progress. We'll need to update the wicks later on, too.

Edit: Move done, and the old page now redirects to the new name. Now we need to update wicks.

Remember the discussion pages, as well as the "renamed trope" logging.

[up] Just submitted it in the thread in FAQ and the appropriate Renamed Tropes subpage. Is there anywhere else I should log this?

I've moved the discussions and added a note. What about this YKTTW?

Partially stalled on "do we organize by medium or country?" and since ~Santos L Halper hasn't been editing, we need a new sponsor.

I have been advocating "organize by country" because America Won World War II is a sub-trope, split from the supertrope based on the country.

[up] I'm quite torn between those sorting styles. I'm thinking of doing it by nation, but by media could do as well.

Will bump it up, and possibly tag as Up For Grabs.

By media is our default, and I assume if we do split by country, we will also subdivide them by media, if there are enough examples per country. Just like the America subtrope is subdivided by media on their page.

I'm in the process of migrating wicks.

While doing so, I noticed the trope's old location does have a laconic, but it seems to suit the supertrope in YKTTW more, as no country or war was specified.

I've moved the last 100 wicks. As for the Laconic, it can just be moved to the new YKTTW, yes?

You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"
