Was that supposed to be Scorpina and Divatox in bed with Zac? That was odd. I liked the interpretation for the suits and Tommy's shield being Hard Light.

Looks like Saban isn't fond of that fan film and is trying to get rid of it:

Regarding the fan film, just using completely original footage and not making money on the project isn't enough to avoid legal issues. Using such a film to gain investors (versus using it as a resume/demo reel) on a new project is also sketchy. There is also a precedence for damage to the brand name. I already mentioned it on the film section page, but the fan film is not even that good of a parody, just a really dark and bloody sci-fi film using Power Ranger names and costumes.
And speaking as a huge sentai fan, it reeks of the same problem I had with man of Steel.
Slapping a brand name on a dark and gritty superhero movie doesnt mean it cant be a good movie..but it does mean it cant be a good SUPERMAN movie. The same goes for sentai, sure, you can make it grimdark as shit..but that kind of misses the point that even the grimdarkiest of Toku shows, Garo, wildly embraces how ridiculous the concept is.
I actually...kinda liked it. Yeah it's grimdark. But's fun too, in a "my childhood as an r-rated movie" kinda way. Or maybe it's just because Katee Sackhoff's in it XD.
I do like the costuming, fight choreography and Tommy's shield too. And the nods to David Yost and Thuy Trang.
Moving on, I am like Dino Charge. I think Chase is probably my favourite for now. He's a flirt, but an endearing one. And the theme song does indeed rock. It reminds of Jungle Fury with the jungle-style intro music, except we have drums here instead if xylophones. And the new lyrics are good fit with the old Go-Go lyrics.

I really enjoyed the fan film. I think it had nice affectionate meta nods (Billy being gay), it looked very stylish, it had fun putting everything under a realist microscope (child soldiers), Bulk and Skull probably let their humiliations in the older seasons define their characters as opposed to the official ones who shrugged them off and grew into reluctant heroes. I wish they had gotten Zordon as Tommy's personal pocket A.I or something, with Rita then stepping on the A.I projector while advancing on Tommy. "Guess his power did'nt protect him"
And it appears Jason David Frank's been fibbing a bit

I haven't watched Power Rangers in years, but I watched the fan film the other day.
Not gonna lie, it was pretty hard to watch. It's almost as if this guy (can't remember his name at the moment) hates it or something. And did he really have to throw in drugs, strong language, and sex?
And that plot twist was like...whoa.
But yeah, I'm not a fan.
Johnny Yong Bosch was in Power Rangers for a while, right? I wonder what are his thoughts on the thing. I know Jason David Frank wasn't so big on it.

Not really fond of it. I found (and can't remember the link to) some of what the creator said about it and the grimdarkness is self-aware but it still just doesn't really feel like PR. It's a generic violent dark flick with a few character designs and names tacked on.
Very good production qualities though. Fight choreography and visual effects are good.
