No, I do think they really are speaking Japanese now. Hell, Satan is now going by his muggle name, and he's calling Alsiel by his muggle name too.
The comment occurred before events that were before the timeskip where they became fluent. Presumably it was referring to the exposition-speak about their situation on Earth. Where Translation Convention was in full effect.
...maybe not too important, but people not noticing when Translation Convention is used is a pet peeve of mine.
Oh, my mistake. I wasn't paying attention to the original post, so I though it was after the time skip.
Just watched both episodes. That's pretty darn interesting. Bit weird to see a Big Bad being so decidedly non-evil like that, though.
I mean, it makes sense for him not to be a total criminal. Criminals generally don't get much further than the backstreets or jail, so it makes sense that he's trying to gain influence in a more legit way.
But offering your umbrella to some random girl in the street, even without asking her to return it? That's full-on Neutral Good right there. I'm not saying I'd want him to be evil. I'd just like to see an explanation of this apparent 180 in character alignment.
Other than that, great show. Love the gags, love alsiel and I especially love Yusa. Tsundere is best dere!

His plan to conquer the world was simply the work of a Well-Intentioned Extremist who thought the Ends Justify The Means. When dealing with individuals he's a king generous person who loves to pet puppies.

Hmm, if I were to take a guess, it might be because he's no longer a demon. I mean, I don't know what demons are all about, but humans aren't inherently evil. If demons are evil by nature, then what would happen if such a person was no longer a demon?
Quite possibly what we are seeing now: same personality, same goals, same memories, but no longer a desire to reach said goals through hurting others. Maoh even seems to have grown a sense of compassion in the progress.
Well, that's my theory, at least. I wonder if we ever get a real explanation, or the writer just thought this would be more funny.
Alsiel doesn't seem to be acting terribly differently apart from the fact that he turned into a housewife. Neither has noted that the other is acting differently. Maybe this is just how they always were when they weren't waging war. You could think of their previous slaughter of humans and their current pleasant attitude as viewing them with complete disregard.

So the fallen angel is a boy...I did not know that. Also Maou is his guardian? Ha! I guess that means the tiny apartment is about to get more crowded!
Does this make Alsiel a shotacon? Self-proclaimed house-husband to a guy 5x younger than him.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.

Translation Convention.
A rather mundane reaction to an earthquake, huh guys? surprised
If you live in earthquake country like Japan, minor earthquakes are completely unnotable. It's like talking about the weather. Of course, as a story it wouldn't be mentioned unless it's important.
