I'm not sure whether to laugh or to be horrified.
Not really. Had a guy with a bad connection (happens) and a guy suffering from lag (distance — he's in Canada, I'm in Israel), but otherwise, no problems.
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home.Well, the three things I'd do are:
- Check your connection.
- Check your NAT stuff/port forwarding.
- Send a support ticket. Make a thousand-piece origami dodecahedron in the meantime.
Or maybe a Loki cosplay suit. Loki is cool.
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home.Happy new year and best wishes for quick recovery from hangover! 2015 has passed and you know what that means - yes, time to cheer up for I will share my opinions with you guys. Time for annual best and worst of previous year.
UPDATE OF 2015:
Best - This is actually pretty hard. Last year I had pretty clear idea what which was the best (u15 was just fuckawesome) and the worst (u14 was just fuck). 2015 on the other hand got no clear standouts. U16 felt very unassuming and most of its big features went over my head (not interested in conclave and trials) and while u18 had massive high point in Second Dream, rest of its features felt like massive failures. It leaves u17 as dubious winner. It just felt like most well put together. Yeah, parkour 2.0 can feel like playing piano with how non-streamlined its controls are, but unlike melee 2.0 it's not really that grating. There were bunch of improvents to capture, defence and mobile defence missions, removal of hated stamina, 17,5 came with archwing polish and J3 aaaand Atlas
. While I hate massive inertia boost archwing movements got, it was pretty good polish. And while I'm not a fan about modular corpus, they are actually... wait, what I'm talking about? Fuck you, DE, for that!
Worst - U16 was mostly innofensive (Sanctuary? Meh!) with some low points (Trial sucked balls and I don't even care to mention conclave). In fact, I remembered about u16 only after scouring WarframeWikia. I suppose, if I would care to say, u16 has more negatives than positives. But I really don't care. U18 on the other hand had great high point in its quest, but everything else failed to deliver on promise. Sniper rework provided big ass nerf on top of minor buffs. General opinion is that on paper damage is somewhat better while quality of life nosedived as heterosexul guy's Johny in gay club. Moon puzzles are designed for teams which is big 'fuck you' to me. Sorties provide no challenge (everyone does ''gasp'') to anyone willing to do even basic cheesing aka using any ability and modding. Charge attacks were reimplemented and... just... FUUUUU... Rhino was reworked and in unexpected turn of events no one gave a fuck; how the mighty have fallen. So, which update is worse? It's a tie of course. Everyone loses. Yaaay!
WARFRAME OF 2015
Best - Spoiler: It's AAAAAtlaaaaaaaaas. No pretentious gimmics like Chroma and Equinox, just abilities that just work well. Ironically so called simple frame is more complex in his gameplay than so called complex Chroma. And that design. Damn, art team was on a roll with this guy. Best looking frame of 2015 by a landslide.
Worst - Chroma. It was tempting to say Wukong, but I actually don't have him and I didn't felt like naming him, even if he is so fucking easy target. In fact of all this year's frames I only have Chroma and Atlas. So it's pretty much between the two. And while Chroma is cool, unexpectadly I liked Atlas better lol. He's just too fast to see. So this year is Atlas' time. I wish I could remember more John Cena jokes, I really do.
WEAPON OF 2015
Best - Synoid Simulor. Strong, unique mechanics and feels like no other weapon in the game. Easy to use but with some drawbacks I need to keep in mind and play around. That's my jam - that's what I choose over grating timing on button presses to swing my electric dildo sliiiiiightly differently.
Worst - Talking about melee, you remember Mios? It has fucking dash-forward in fucking quick attack - something I definitely don't wan't in fucking quick attack. Leveling it was pain, because it would fart charge attack after every fucking stealth kill. It's stance is just like every other fucking stance - drowned under big fat pile of fuck. And it has same charge attack as Harpak and AIDS, which everyone hates, but on Mios everyone goes baby-gaga over it. WTF? Objectively Lacera seems to be worse than Mios, so fuck Lacera, but fuck Mios twice, because I have fucking grudge. FUUUCK!!!
ENEMY OF 2015
Best - There is hardly a competition. Manic bombard is more interesting to fight than sharkwing grineer and archwing infested, while also lacking multiple bullshit layers of modular corpus and sentients. Not that I'm a big fan of that guy, but he still stands out without getting hateble. And that's better than any other.
Worst - JUST! FUCKING! GUESS! Modular corpus embody everything pure putrid fuck about Warframe's enemy design. There is barely anything that would make them stand out of crowd, not much differences between them (When shown on devstream, they had different colour clothes. Where are those now?), their weapons also don't stand out being relatively small hand held bricks, target seeking OHK shotguns, fastest melee swings in game (and also OHK), very high speed on half of them, massive health. But what pisses me off the most? Fucking wankers insisting that these walking crime scenes against proper game design are designed better than nullifiers.
I'm not trying to pull your leg, I'm not talking bullshit. Almost everything nullifiers do right, modulars rape the fuck up and leave to die in dark alleyway. If you want to disagree, go ahead - I have counter to just about your every argument, good grasp of psychological reasons why you prefer modulars over nullifiers, IQ of over 130 and just thinking about modulars leave me agitated. So just go ahead and fucking try me!
BOSS OF 2015
Best - J3. While archwing left me pretty lukewarm post u17.5, I must say J3 was pretty enjoyable. It's far from technical or mechanical marvel, but still fun. And juggernout fight right before archwing part was surprisingly good too. Juggy isn't that bad when there is enough space to actually react to its attacks. And I farmed Atlas in three runs aka before I got tired from J3.
Worst - Same can't be said about Regor. Eight parts to farm, only rare resource in his droptable is too rare to drop from him (only one tellirioum in dozens of runs), pretty long (sometimes massive) delay before he even shows up, most of the fight is waiting for him to show up and get bursted down. At least Ruk and Hek stick around while invincible and provide attacks for you to dodge. Regor only got manics and even they take their sweet time to show up and find you. Everything about that fight is just so damn slow.
TILESET OF 2015
It's a fucking tie, people. I just couldn't decide. - Grineer Sewer or Orokin Death Star. Former felt pretty run of the mill aside from aesthetically wonderfull (but not very eventfull) sharkwing segments, but suffered from shitty lighting, while letter appealed to me more even without having any standout places. It however had team puzzles (I'm mostly solo guy) and sentients, close second to modular corpus in field of diarrhea induction. Both are fully PBR which is annoying reminder of my toaster's age. So they both suck.
There, it's done. I'm not good with closing words, so blah, blah, happy new year.

Oh yes, I was foaming at the mouth, waiting to share my opinion with other people about this year:
Update category
Best Update of the year
Honestly it feels like the updates quality got standardized. Like, the best wasn't as good as the best of the year before, but neither was the worst as bad as the worst of the year before.
With that said, I nominate U18 as the best, if only because lore is finally coming in an interesting way that doesn't involve scan grind, the Focus system was finally released (albeit with some up and downs) and the new moontiles finally have vaults where we can have good expectations of what we will get, as opposed to the awful, awful drop table in the void. Also, the writing of The Second Dream brought back unspoiled Salad V in a very entertaining manner.
Worst update of the year
I have to say U 16 too. Hek being an immortal asshole even in the trial pisses me off, the droptable of the trial pisses me off, the Sanctuary is OK but I'm not a fan of countless scans to get a short essay on the past of Warframe and the conclave doesn't interest me.
Weapon category
Best weapon of the year
Sancti Tigris. Hands down, damage is broken, reload is short and the SFX is viscerally pleasing. But most importantly, I feel awesome when I get nearly automatic ROF from proper reloading and to this day I still feel like I can master this weapon more thoroughly. I nearly squealed out loud at work when the weapon was revealed on the devstream*. You have to understand Tigris was my favorite weapon before the shotgun buffs, and New Loka is my main syndicate by far.
I will consider myself an expert with it the day I will not need to hold the duplex to shoot two targets that aren't aligned, with snap aiming.
* Don't judge my work ethic
Worst weapon of the year
Oh sweet jesus I don't know. The Daikyu bow made me feel viscerally angry at the world for forcing me to sit through the entire charge process, as opposed to charging halfway or a quarter. Probably one of the less pleasant experience I had with a max-and-sell weapon.
I would nominate the Kraken if I could.
Warframe category
Best warframe of the year
Tis a hard choice truly. I use Chroma the most with 6 Forma and a LOT of expensive mods, and his aesthetic appeals to me. However his gameplay has the depth of a shallow pond of stagnant water and I appreciate that about him. I've grown to like durable Warframes who let me focus on the real star of the show, my prized 5 star Sanctigris.
With that said I do think that Equinox' day form is an interesting frame, if only maybe too complicated for nothing.
I will however nominate Ivara for her gameplay surprised me the most and I thought she was shockingly pleasant to use. Negative brownie point for yet another "exalted weapon" ult.
Worst warframe of the year
You know it deep down in your heart.
I'm going straight for the china-frames. I don't like their boring gameplay, I don't like that they're carbon copy of characters from another IP here only to appeal to China, I don't like alertium (although it's really not that bad) and I DON'T FUCKING WANT NEZHA IN SORTIES DROPS IF I GET ANOTHER FUCKING HELMET I'M GOING TO SCREAM - Oh and I don't like their aesthetic the least.
Although I am greatly amused by everyone falling for the Nezha the trap.
Tileset category
I don't remember all the tilesets of 2015.
I will say that the moon is pretty spot on. The vaults are way more interesting and rewarding than the Dragon Vault bullshit with their keys. The Sentients creates an... interesting dynamic on these map, if you do not have broken weapons.
As closing words, I am a grumpy long time player so my word is law by definition.
Happy new year. That is also law now.

Dude, I got two BPs, three Barrels and a stock. I have the complete weapon, of course (it's pretty but not useful).
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home. What Dera Vandal parts do you need?
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home.I'm not really qualified to speak in terms of tilesets and frames, since I haven't gotten much of the new stuff yet. Best weapon of the year was probably the Mios, because SO MUCH SLICING. Really sold me on the whipsword, probably the best weapon to come out of the melee contest so far. Worst... well, Daikyu pissed me off as well, so I'll roll with that. For updates, I'd go with 17 as best (PARKOUR) and 16 as worst (I barely even considered it an update, it didn't feel like it changed much). 18 I haven't experienced much of, but snipers seem okay, the new quest sounds pretty meh, and I don't remember much else.
but HOW?Oh, should have given Sanctigris honorable mention. Just ran sortie survival vs corpus with that baby. Enemies pouring from everywhere, lots of nullifiers, lots of sapping ospreys, only bare minimum of modulars and tons of fun. Seriously, that alert exemplifies all that sapper stand for. Host lagged for three or four seconds, so I got cought in death zone for the first time in months. Couldn't be all smug when rezzing teammates for rest of the mission. Still was awesome time.
In retrospect I should have imagined everyone will pick Tigris or Hek leaving no one to deal with nullifiers effectively. But what's done is done and my Boar Prime remains collecting dust.
And yeah, second piece of Nezha chassis. Not to mention I need only Dera receiver. Easy bet that I'll have plenty repeats before it comes.
What you think will be weapon drop in next season? Or season after that (since next one will prolly have Karak Wraith)? Since I have every event weapon bar Snipetron Vandal, any of them will be drop table clutter for me.
Any clue which primes are next in line to go in prime vault?
edited 1st Jan '16 2:35:09 PM by Prany
well the next frame to go into the vault should be rhino prime, along with ankyros prime and boltor prime, whihc reminds me, i should get a boltor prime set to sell after that happens, that thing is gonna skyrocket in price so SO much.
the next frame ot come OUT of the vault should be mag, along wiht boar and dakra, and she should come with the noru syandana and distiller extractor primes in the vault bundle.
piggy ganon, piggy ganon, does whatever a piggy cannot...
Damn it, I've been trying for weeks to get a Boltor Prime receiver without success, but I have all the Rhino P. parts sans the BP, that should sell for a good sum.
For the Dera Vandal, I just need that damn receiver, I got two barrels and two stocks but that damn receiver doesn't drop, instead I got all the lenses I don't use or am interested in.

Yes, it's too obvious thing to not do. It may be the only time in tenno existance when little daydreamers are exposed to lethal doses of reality.
