I guess we don't have hide focus system. It's not like it spoils the plot. Talking about focus system, you think we'll ever get skill tree the size of one in Path of Exile?

[up][up]On second thought, maybe spoiler hiding may last longer - till peasents get their update 18.

[up] yhea i forgot about console ppl

regarding focus, i agree, no real reason to spoiler tag the focus system, after all it's just a new mechanic, and everyone gets to get lenses from sorties anyways.

[up][up] I disagree — wiki says that Focus is only unlocked after finishing the Second Dream. Understandable, since it does have some plot relevance.

[up] On the other hand, it is only a mechanic. Would we spoiler discussions of Archwings, Sharkwing and any Liset modules that require a quest?

Talking about focus system, you think we'll ever get skill tree the size of one in Path of Exile?

I'm not sure I would want that. Have you actually read what each nodes do? About 75% or more is just plain stat increase.

For now it would be nice for the descriptions to includes numbers in the trees and for the abilities to better match the description of each trees.

It's not like mentioning focus mechanics reveals how we acquired it.

I'm not sure I would want that. Have you actually read what each nodes do? About 75% or more is just plain stat increase.

You would be surprised how well it works and what can be done with it. Anyhow, I mentioned it in jest - one look at mod system and general balancing shows, DE ain't got gel to make skill forest.

[up]well they actually did at first, waaay back in closed beta, before mods existed; they simply decided it didn't give them enough versatility, so they converted the skill/stat tree into mods, which can be freely put on something so long as you have the mod points for them; a skill/stat tree is just something that doesn't work on warframe, not if you use it for everything at least, it only seems to work in small scale, like in the focus system.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying skill trees are inherently better than Warframe's mod system. Just that execution on DE's part leaves lot to be desired.

Anyhow, I tried today's (Or yesterday's? Well the one with grineer.) sorties and I must admit: they are indeed difficult - exactly as promised. Four mistake limit on grineer consoles in spy vault with my 20fps is absolutely devious. GG, DE, GG.

Eh, having played Path of Exiles, I wasn't all that impressed by the skill forest once I got over the huge size. It's mostly that big because they put all 6 trees together. Not saying it's bad or anything, but I don't particularly enjoy the thought of complicated trees for the sake of it.

So how do you guys feel about your operators? While I have serious reservations about current state of the fluff, for some misbegotten reason I enjoy her banters.

Operator - Maybe stealth would be better aproach.

Me - Mkay, I'll just go over those drills and tell em' to be vewwy, vewwy quiet. Maybe greneer shooting at us will fall asleep.

Operator - We fight with honor.

Me - No, sweetie, we fight with Loki.

Operator - We should go to offense.

Me - Aww, but I was already running.

Operator - You would think clones would look... less ugly.

Me - Pffft, yay you would. Sucks to be clones.

Ordis - Stand by while I analyze the intelligence profile of the Grineer. Error, not a number! Did the Operator enjoy this witticism?

Me - Oh my GOD, you sick racist FUCK! How dare you have a nerv to insult these unfortunate, misguided, desease ridden souls!? Do you think they had a choice being born as cripples and slaves? You disgust me.

Tyl Regor - Come for a fight? Oh, should have dressed for a funeral.

Operator - Keep talking - we're still trying to figure out how dumb you are.

Me - 0_0

@Prany: My computer isn't too good and I solo'd that with Loki. The hardest sortie mission I had was today's Corpus Defence — about midway through, the Nullies became really, really annoying. But we did finish it without a Frost in the team, so that was nice. (Two Mag Prime, a Disarm Loki and Nova, in case you were wondering.)

Dear Leader, blessed might She be, of New Loka, best syndicate in Milky Way and beyond, has been carrying me through so much of the new content by granting upon me the sacred Sanguine Eximii, avatars of Her Purity. If you summon them near a defence objective, it will be as eternal as the rule of our blessed Leader, protected as it is by the Sanguine Eximii's holy aura. So long as I have them close to me, I fear no Corpus Eximii, no extra-systemic Sentients nor ruthless Grineer.

Thanks to the New Loka specters, we could duo today's sortie. Praise be.

Anyhow, regarding how I relate to the operator: I have not yet decided whether I find him endearing, insulting or despicable. For the time being, I am leaning toward good-willed sympathy as I process the shock and turmoil from completing the Second Dream. I occasionally giggle when he make an intervention, either because it is uncalled for or amusing.

Apropos Operator mission chatter, have noticed that the Lotus' environmental hazard chatter comes at random times (and not at the beginning of the mission where it should be)?

Yeah it's been that way for a while. Bite me as to "why" it has been so, probably a bug.

That, or DE gave it a very low priority in transmission so we get everything else before it.

regarding the operator i honestly like it, sure whole thing is pretty weird, but the existance and functioning of the operator is internally consistent, and makes a lot of the previous lore entries finaly make sense both within themselves and with each other, the only things that bug me are all customisation related, and they aren't really much important, though i gotta say i've never seen the operator talking in a mission, are there any conditions for that to happen?

[up]I wouldn't call reveal that shocking. Barely above entry level on weirdness scale. But everyone has their own standarts, so it may just be me. And I'm not sure they are that consistent, but I don't have time to delve on it for now.

My schock doesn't stem from the reveal per se, but rather from the fact that Children Protagonist are a deal breaker to me, usually. But now this predisposition of mine ran head first into my fanboyism for the game and the latter has a lot of inertia.

[up][up] well if it's any help, Kid Hero isn't really the case here, it's far more a case of really 700 years old, i think it's pretty clear that whatever happened to the tenno in the void and/or the process of entering the dream-state created by margulis halted their growth, and probably their ageing too, sure they aren't the most mature peaple out there, but their inmaturity/childishness can be blamed on their amnesia

[up]that works too

I think it is a subversion of the Kid Hero trope, the Tenno needs a proxy to work and Lotus or someone else to give them some purpose. The focus wasn't being a kid adventuring but becoming a loathed Child Soldier whose creators tried to kill after serving their purpose and out of fear.

[up][up][up] This is either very illegal or degenerate.

[up][up] It's still kind of weird. I struggle to wrap my head around the fact that some children came up with the whole Tenno culture and schools.

[up]It's effective - that's only thing that matters... until FBI shows up, but that's then. Let's focus on now!

And I don't think Tenno created anything. At least not on their own. Their whole lives were controlled by Orokin leadership and they were pampered by Margulis and then Lotus. They were more likely guided in to their culture.

Heh I don't think that A) The Tenno would've stuck with a school system from the Orokin after fragging them all and B) That the Orokin would've been able to come up with the next step in Tenno overpowerness. It seems to me you gotta be a Tenno to crack that nut.
