Rhino, Fragor and Gorgon? Add Lex or Bolto to that and you'll be the stereotypical Mighty Glacier.

Actually I'm already rolling Lex. I need some presence half the map away too, and Gorgon is relatively useless for that.

I thought it was funny because I did a spy mission with only a sniper excalibur (at least it looked like a snipetron) and I ended up being the data mass bearer. I still did more damage (66% vs 34%) with my Lex and my Fragor than the guy with his whole set. That made me laugh a little.

Even better was when I did another spy mission, but this time with another Rhino, and we both had precisely 50% of all the damages. Talk about teamwork.

Now that I think about it, who the hell would send a Rhino on a spy mission, that can't be any kind of subtle. Fortunately stealth isn't required.

I despise spy missions in singleplayer. It's practically impossible without ammo extensions or a good melee weapon, and even then the sheer magnitude of the clusterfuck that seems to always happen in those missions sucks...

I still haven't found any incendiary mods, so those dudes are painful as hell to fight. Their weak spots are their limbs too, so it's a pain to do any real damage to them consistently. Makes me glad I use the MK-1 Braton instead of the normal one, though. All dat stability and clip size gives me at leas a small edge.

So, there'll be another developpers live stream this wednesday, one focused on the art and animation of the game, if it interest anyone.

Info here.

They don't mention it, but I have a gut feeling they will give away platinum, possibly. Last time they announced 3 random price of platinum for three viewers of the livestream, but Rebecca (Community Manager and "host" of the stream) decided to give a fourth one randomly.

I'm looking forward to seeing the art myself, we might get an insight in future bosses or map tiles.

Alas poor souls, I double-post again, because there's a live stream to summarize dam it. Here's the video again for those interested, there's not that much arts to be seen, but still.

The art part of the video can really be summed out to "we get a lot of inspiration, we look at stuff on the net from our fans, we're excited of doing Warframe after canning scyfy!Dark Sector, we're open to changing stuff". So really, mostly trivial information, like that at first the art director (Mynki) and co were very inspired by Neon Genesis Evangelion and Metal Gear Solid before opening their horizons.

They gave a sneak peak of the current Warframe that is being modeled, which is stated to be a combat engineer. Fans of combat engineering can rejoice. A concept art can be seen around the 34:45 mark of the video I posted. I'm not particularly impressed by it so far, but considering the sketches of the other frames they showed, I think we can still expect something badass.

They talked about grenades too, if anyone is curious (I was curious myself): there won't be any, ever. The devs feels like it belongs to mods powers, so there won't be any kind of hand explosive available for all frames.

Update 8 is said to come out this friday, but I thought I understood it would be out last friday. I probably misunderstood, so I won't promise you that it is due this friday. However, it's supposedly this update that will deliver the Glaive. One thing is for sure, they are working on the Endgame of Warframe, which practically doesn't exist at this point. One of their vision was Clan's dojo, so that clans can have a physical place to show off their prestige, not much details beyond that. They were also talking about the pooling of resources like rubedos. Needless to say that update 8 is an ambitious update.

A third developper popped randomly and gave some random stats too: for example, did you know players as a whole were averaging 1 million missions per day? Or 1,6 million slash dashes per day? Also, it seems the game is more popular than they anticipated. That's a good thing, until their servers crash. Shouldn't happen now with their new super-hamsters ("hamsters" is a DE nickname for servers).

They talked about PVP (again): won't happen. The way they see it, there's already plenty of games out there that does PVP well, so they want to do something different for a change.

Gender swapping of frames is a touchy subject. Short answer: we don't know. Argument for it: customization. Argument against it: giving each frame a personality that is distinct. Best example would be Saryn that is described as a Femme Fatal. But then you get 3 Excaliburs together and the individuality kind of disappear. So yeah, dunno. To be noted, "dat Ash" jokes are already a thing.

That's pretty much it for the livestream I think. To be noted: apparently you can summon Steve (one of the dev) by shaking the Pink Shorts of Summoning. Food for thought.

In other (totally important) news, I now have a pet Sentinel. What silly cat name could I give my Wyrm? I say cat because I find the Wyrm looks like a cat bent in half, and I need a name to scream in a fit of rage when he dies. Sentinels are really weak early on, not really a good thing when backing Rhino.

So, we've talked about our builds and classes and stuff, but we haven't actually discussed the most important part of this game.

What colors do y'all put on your Warframes? I have a red white and blue Loki. What better for the Rogue class than the most eye-catching colors around?!

I've got bright blue and red. Just because.

[up][up][up] More good stuff to know. Glad the game's doing better than they thought. Somewhat glad they aren't rushing into Pv P, but I think it will happen someday. There have certainly been times when I wished I could grenade a cluster of enemies. Hmm. Wonder if there's gonna be grenadier frame if that's how they're gonna do it.

Depends, I change it every 5 missions or so because I feel it is time to change.

Right now my Rhino is black, white and electric blue. Naturally my sentinel is the same (although it is very similar to it's base coloring from when I claimed him from the foundry).

... Yes, I bought the Ice color pack, I feel very limited with the base color they give us. I'm considering the Fire pack too now, with those two I should have a mighty fine array of choice.

[up] Frames like Mag or Banshee are Person of Mass Destruction for starter, and I suspect this new engineer frame will have some explosive.

Is there, like, a troper guild or something? My brother-in-law pestered me to play this game with him and now never plays (I only got to play with him once!), but I'm somewhat hooked. It's a bit rough as I'm just starting out (cleared Mercury, some of Venus) and I'm scrambling to find blueprints and get better weapons/warframes.

That'd actually be plenty fun! I'm trying to carve my way to Neptune and from there to Ceres so I can take on Lech Kril and get my Frost, but Corpus are a pain in the ass to fight alone and some help would be great.

Does the game already support a clan system or will we have to wait for the infrastructure to be put in place?

It already does I believe.

Update 8 will just add gravy on top of the clan system.

I'd join, and if it's an "official" Warframe group then I'd recommend Troper Tenno or something with the words "TV Tropes" or "Troper" in the title.

I already kinda counted both of you in, but ok. As for the name, I was thinking "Space Lampshade Ninja" or something. Or just "TV Tropes".

I've tried googling it, but nothing has come up as of yet. It only started today, and I've noticed some changes between today and yesterday, so I'm assuming some new patch was rolled out?

...I had no idea that the weapons in the store cost either credits or platinum. I thought you needed both.

You choose one of the two ressources. And you can buy most plat-only weapons/frames with credits, but they come as blueprints.

It kinda annoys me that the Glaive is one of those you can't buy the blueprints but bleh.

And about your crashing, I'd really go post it on the official forums if it keeps going.

Still kicking around in my excalibur. However I finally got off my ass and got into the Wiki to figure what the hell I am actually doing. So figured out how to fuse the mods. Very nice and remembered I can buy actual weapons from the market. I blew a sizeable chunk of change getting blue prints (Paris for fun), the Lex Pistol (Dirty Harry as Guyver), and the Semi-Auto Rifle.

So far the Paris is actually kinda fun. I am running around doing solo missions to level up my weapons. I am still working on getting mats for a more powerful sword.

It is looking more like my play style is leaning towards high damage in a single hit. Any recommended frames for that?

Excalibur is pretty hardcore with levelled Slash Dash and Javelin.

Mag deals a lot of area damage with her ult.

Loki deals no damage by himself, but his invisibility make you do more damage on your melee damage. Loki with reflex coil + killing blow + invisibility will end the world. I had a lot of fun with that build and Rush.

Banshee's ult is like Mag's, but over time and can affect enemy even if they entered the AOE mid ult.

Saryn's contaminate also boost her melee damage, but she doesn't benefit from Invisiblity's impunity.

Can't really comment on ranged weapons or other frames tho. Latron is a DMR that is pretty strong against Grineer and Corpus when modded for armor pen, but not necessarly a OSOK. Hek is supposed to OSOK, but it'll get a buff apparently.

Hope that helps.

I was thinking of switching to Rhino due to my general play style. Or I may be just too lazy to switch to a new frame and grind it up :P

I do have the Latron. So far so good.

I will have to look into the Hek.
