If things continue like this, this is really going to become a series, isn't it? smile

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.

Have Japanese STUDIOS posted their own content on You Tube, subbed, for free, before?? Cause if not, this shows just how much Trigger really wants to get the word out about young talent, and about animation made in one's own country!

Well, I know Black★Rock Shooter was streamed on Nico Nico Douga, which is basically Japanese You Tube. With English subtitles, even!

[up][up] Back in 2011 there was a Subaru funded animation called Hokago no Pleiades released in this format. Yes, it is ads for Subaru.

To answer your question that I forgot to look (sorry!), I didn't watch English subs for RYO, Death Billboard, and Arve Rezzle.

Well that was nice. Animation was gorgeous. Characters were enjoyable. I'd see it if it got picked up for a full series.

Gotta say, though, the symbol of the seven stars on the staff triggered some interesting associations for me.

What's precedent ever done for us?

Anyone think of this as a Magical Girl show? Not a Magical Girl Warrior but rather the classic Cute Witch type of Magical Girl like Sally The Witch. The major difference is this isn't about a witch from a Magical Land who comes to our world.

[up]It is Harry Potter without Voldemort and missing parents.

[up] Yeah, Harry Potter being the inspiration instead of Bewitched.

Doesn't that make it less Magical Girl then, considering that Bewitched is kinda important for the whole Cute Witch thing?

okay, what the hell did I just say there?

Also, I don't really see this working out as a series, since Harry Potter without Voldemort is just far less exciting.

[up] It could be a slice of life series, a comedy.

It could focus on the magic of friendship and also actual magic. Monster of the Week would be used as well.

...And Harry Potter doesn't have legs like Akko's.

He wears pants because his legs aren't touchably smooth like Akko's. But mostly he wears robes. Not sure if pants are or are not worn under the robe in the books.

Is it weird that this one-shot has inspired me to write a novel?

How do you think the magic system works as well as the existence of wizards?

It would be sexist if wizards did not exist, so I hope they do. I just think this program has no interest in showing them because the show may lose moe points.
