Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules
(in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific ban/suspension cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

Sometimes I wonder if tropes like Author Appeal (which I've been wanting to do something about for a while because we really shouldn't be speculating about real people's fetishes IMO) would be allowed on the wiki if they were created today.
I think that trope shouldnt allow speculation, it should have to have AT LEAST Word of God.
I wonder why some of the URLs of our subforums (specifically, the parts after (“https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/conversations.php?topic=”) are just a bunch of numbers and/or letters (for example, Wiki Talk is “0000000000000000000000f3” and Western Animation is “00000000000000000000005c”) while others are actually meaningful (like how Image Pickin’ is “images” and Fan Fiction is “fanfic”.
Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project!I'm guessing the ones with names that aren't strings of random characters are newer, since the two newest additions, Content Violations Morgue and FAQs Morgue, have URLs that simply contain their names.
I got a rock for Halloween.I would really like to play the Draco in Leather Pants Game and Ron the Death Eater Game more, but they're really hard to play when you don't know the character, which I seemingly never do. I guess I could read their character page, but I feel like it's not the same thing.
Tbh I never really hated his minigames in the original, but they did make them better in the remake.Part of what burned me out on Forum Games in general was the reliance on character and avatar based games, mostly because I felt like a lot of the works being discussed were out of my wheelhouse while the works I like to discuss are more niche, so I was never really compatible with it. So I get you.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper Wall![]()
It goes either way, really. If you were expecting a more detailed outline for the character you mentioned and you get a single sentence that, while accurately describing the character, doesn't really say much else, that's just kinda disappointing.

I probably feel the same way. I'm relatively active in forum games but still have yet to get involved in the many avatar threads despite having made my first avatar for the site a couple of weeks ago, as my avatar is not meant to be any particular character.
I tend to feel out of place due to the heavy emphasis on anime/manga, fanfiction, and video games (plus web content and 21st century kids' cartoons to slightly lesser extents). My time for TV/movies has been limited in recent years (not helped that I tend to waste an unholy amount of time on this site instead of studying), which is one of the main reasons why I focus mainly on music.
So far I have launched a grand total of three non-music work pages: a music-based fanfic I wrote many years back, a collection of assorted tropable commercials I could find on YouTube, and one of the books I was reading for class at the time. I have every intention of bringing more Troper Works to the site when they're properly published, including the first part of a serialized novel I've had in Development Hell for years, though it may still take a while before anything sees the light of day.
I have the same issue. The avatar I use is from The Brittas Empire, which no one is really aware of, so that makes avatar games difficult for me.
Observation: the Edit Banned thread is quite quiet lately. Must not be a lot of suspensions lately — good.
Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallThose monkeys have been jumping on the bed for too long.
Your melody still remains in this room and it ringsDid one of them write “It was the best of times, it was the blurst of times”? ;P
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered! While I haven't kept track of Ask The Tropers for a while, you might be right. While I initially wondered if the reason mod discussion of Edit banned had slowed down because of the holiday season (which it possibly did), the fact that it's still been relatively slow-paced almost two weeks later might just be a result of there being less to discuss.
As stated in this thread's header, discussion of Edit Banned isn't a banned subject on its own. Only discussion of specific suspension/ban cases (not just ones that went through Edit Banned, but the ones that do are the most visible to the general public) is forbidden, but that's not what was done here.

I got a rock for Halloween.Apparently my TRS thread for The Problem with Licensed Games is officially my 80th TRS thread!
Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallI just noticed on the phone browser version of TV Tropes, the “post” button for when you make a post is highlighted.
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!TIL (via a TRS admin announcement) we have almost 50,000 tropes
. Always wondered what the number was.

There seem to be a lot of Paper Mario and Bug Fables fans on Forum Games all of a sudden. (admittedly, I say "all of a sudden" because I've been on hiatus)
