Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules
(in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific ban/suspension cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

I heard from a Redditor that someone tried to create a hoax on TV Tropes by sneaking in their Transformers OC in as a canon example across numerous pages, even managing to get them as the headline quote on at least one page. Is this incident true?
Is there a way to really view old pages other than the Wayback Machine? It Will Never Catch On Real Life had so many examples that were interesting and way better written than the versions on And You Thought It Would Fail. Nowadays trying to use the Wayback Machine just plops you into the "Sorry, this page is cut" message, with no way to see the old page.

http://web.archive.org/web/20100414230246/https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ItWillNeverCatchOn
works for me, getting a 2010 page.
That's not the real life page, if you try that one, it will plop you right back to the page telling you its been cut. The worst part is that for a few seconds it works but then in a time that is too fast to read anything the page will plop you right out.
As long as this flower is in my heart. My Strength will flow without end. What are you trying to do? Just pick a date you want, and substitute it for "20100414230246", then open the folders to get examples?
Why would it send you back to actual TV Tropes?

Might be an Archive problem — IIRC they got hacked recently.

Yeah, when the mod team was discussing whether to move a defunct online work to Darth Wiki not too long ago (I think late last month) and the Wayback Machine turned up no results other than a snapshot of a 404 error from after the work was deleted, at least one mod mentioned that the site's search feature can make it easier to find archives, but that said search feature wasn't working, so it does seem like they don't have everything back up yet.

I got a rock for Halloween.I have to wonder: why is it that editing a review will give a preview of it, like you can do with page edits and forum posts, but this is not available when you create the review in the first place?
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.I'm going through NightmareFuel.Vanity Plate and I'm finding basically nothing on it scary. Unsettling or startling at worst, but not scary per se.
Quite frankly some of the logos on there I genuinely wonder what is scary about them.

I guess that's true. This logo
is listed and I remember seeing/being scared of it as a kid at the time — now I just think the animation is cool.
Feel it's been brought up before. NF is ymmv for a reason, but if there are examples that are definitely not it I'd leave them to designated cleanup.
TroperWall / WikiMagic Cleanup

I've gone on TV Tropes so much when I go to Google on my phone's browser it starts showing me newly-launched tropes
(it showed me Labyrinthine City too but I couldn't screenshot that one)
Guys how cool would it be if Super Megaforce had a green ranger...
