Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules
(in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific ban/suspension cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

They're pretty epic. And I'm consistently impressed at how the editorial staff of Trope Report consistently manages to find appropriate sponsors for the month.
Wenn sie die Ente hierein lassen, lasse ich das Wasser hieraus! The first time Followed Threads got over 50 unread, so it was a quite busy morning reading them.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupWhy do we still have the
icon when It Just Bugs Me was renamed over a decade ago?
~mightymewtron Not an engineer, so I can’t say this in that thread, but thank you for your engineer work. You’ve done a lot for this site over the years, and I wish you well in your future endeavors.
(Random question — by “normie user”, what do you mean? Just curious.)
Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallI've only really been a proper engineer for less than a year but I appreciate the thanks.
Normie user just means I'll use the site as normal, editing and working in forums and such, just without my extra privileges.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.
Got it.
On a different subject, I noticed Nintendo Hard’s TRS cleanup appears to be nonexistent, based on the wick cleanup sandbox. Maybe I’ll make that my next project.
Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallSince I’m watching the movie he’s the star of, I can still remember when we had Jack Skellington as the icon for the Nightmare Fuel tab.
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!![]()
I remember that from when I used to lurk. I also remember DMOS used to be pinned to the top — I believe a TRS thread changed that.
I never feel comfortable adding a Misaimed Fandom entry unless it's backed up by something a creator actually said.
So, this is probably not the best place to discuss this, but... I just accidentally launched someone else's trope.
I was looking through the Launch Pad to see what proposed tropes I like. I found this one
, and tried to offer a Hat, but I somehow ended up clicking through both launch buttons and got it launched despite the proposal seeming incomplete. How do I reverse this?
Update: Posted to the Crash Rescue thread
, Thank you homogenized
Update 2: It was unlaunched, Thank you Willbyr

I found the Hit Overdosed page and now I'm looking at the related pages for various works. I found out that The Angry Beavers has 222,361 hits. That is VERY surprising for a Nicktoon that isn't as remembered as its contemporaries.
Sinners are TRASH / And they are A**HOLES>what is the official stance on troping works rendered noncanon?
Non canon works are still works, so they can always be troped in and of themselves. Depending on when and why they became non-canon, they may be worth citing for a "former canon was X before a retcon" situation.
Suddenly I'm... still rotating Fallen London in my mind even though I've stopped actively playing it.At base, being non-canon is Trivia to be noted on the tab. Of course often it needs to be mentioned elsewhere because it affects other things. Usually if the non-canon stuff is more than an episode or two, it is set into its own continuity and may be troped as a separate work. For the biggest example recently, all of Star Wars Legends is non-canon to the films.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.I just wondered that if TV Tropes existed in 2001, people might've shoehorned in Harsher in Hindsight examples about 9/11 in the same way COVID shoehorns were rampant four years ago.

Oh, I know we all in the team love 'em. But what do people outside the project think of them?
