Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules
(in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific ban/suspension cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

I wanna know just what trope would the "Floating Glass" on Batman Beyond Return Of The Joker be. Not enough to actually go through Trope Finder, but the efects IS SO COOL.
Explanation: There is a scene in the movie where Batman crashes through a window and the glass floats like snow while he gives the Joker the biggest beating he ever gave him in the DCAU. It sounds really explained like this but is CHEF'S KISS brilliant visually,

I've mostly been doing wick cleaning and merging Character-Specific Pages, which also requires many minor edits to update the indexes and stuff.
I fondly remember when I started with Bleached Underpants. It caught my eye because it's related to Visual Novels, as most have an all-ages Self-Censored Release. But turns out the term Bleached Underpants was a bad and ambiguous pun invented here.

Had a dumb game idea, using crowner options to link to other crowners in chose-your-adventure way. The downside that it's a crowner bloat and requires moderation to set up.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupThe normal way to make a CYOA on a wiki is with linked pages. There's a stub of a game somewhere made around the proper way to edit the wiki and deal with difficult tropers.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.^ That would be Encounters
There was interest in reviving it
but that never took off.

Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallI'm browsing some of the recently closed threads at IP that I missed, and I honestly don't find replacing Sinfest with Ménage à 3 much of an improvement? Sure, the latter may not have the former's "baggage" attached, but... that's about it, really. The latter is just as overdosed with pics, and I find the art worse; plus the comic itself is also bad (though for different reasons).
I really wish Tatsuya closed off Sinfest when he lost any interest in the characters and started up a new comic to rant about his politics, so we could cleanly separate the good and bad phases. But I still have affection for the old comic, and as others have noted, it makes for very good trope illustrations because for all his inability to make a coherent point or bring a story to a meaningful close, Tatsuya is brilliant for telling the story through visuals with no text needed.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.no. you are now required to explain why you joined a cult.
Suddenly I'm... still rotating Fallen London in my mind even though I've stopped actively playing it.From the header (most relevant part bolded for emphasis, but the part about popcorn posting preceding it is relevant as well):

I got a rock for Halloween.I fixed the typo in the Changelog thread's header (belatedly) because it's not mandatory for users to say why they like a dog made of bread.

I got a rock for Halloween.Today I realised Gods Need Prayer Badly is a play on Wizard Needs Food Badly.
Sometimes, I think back to the thread discussing this site's extensive use of Sinfest images in pages, and whether we were publicizing a alt-right comic or not.
And I remember that Tintin also is the example image for a lot of pages (maybe even more than Sinfest!), and it has some philonazi accusations too!
Of course, TinTin's situation is much tamer: from what I remember, the author of TinTin might have been a Nazi sympathizer, and he allegedly based TinTin himself on one of the Nazis controlling Vichy during World War II.
But otherwise TinTin isn't a vehicle for right-wing ideology, and today's kids might not even know what it is, or is seen as a classic. And I don't know if this was just a rumor or not.
Comparing this to a webcomic where the author is very much active and explicitly promotes Nazi ideals, I doubt we also need to purge TinTin images from this site.
But still, it's almost like a curse or something.

Oo oo ah ahHow is that possible considering the first Tintin comic was published in 1929?
ERROR: The current state of the world is unacceptable. Save anyway? YES/NO

As long as the edits are productive, a large amount of edits in a short amount of time isn't concerning. Handling TRS cleanup tends to involve making a bunch of small edits, for example.
