Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules
(in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific ban/suspension cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

I wonder if the constant subversions of Animation Age Ghetto could be worth mentioning... (Almost all sucessful cartoons are for adults, Adult Swim takes more and more slots from CN and airs animation aimed at adults and gets way better ratings, Me TV Toons is outright aimed at adults...)
As long as this flower is in my heart. My Strength will flow without end.The miserable ratings they get. Bluey does ok (300K on linear and MILLIONS on streaming) but the new Fairly Oddparents got 60k viwers on main Nick (The most miserable ratings ever for ANY cable channel. This channel used to do 11 million) Rock, Paper, Scissors did great too, but that aired after the Super Bowl.
Adult Swim has very much swallowed CN. CN has NO NEW cartoons.
As long as this flower is in my heart. My Strength will flow without end.I think kids are more likely to watch media online now.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Yeah and less and less people are watching cable. More children are watching stuff on You Tube and streaming. Not really a subversion of the ghetto just demographic shifts due to technology
Macron's notes
Yeah. But ironically the streamers dont really know how to make their kids cartoons succeed either. Like ironically old cartoons do AWESOME on streaming but other than Dreamworks people just dont know how to make a kids cartoon succeed at all. Even on streaming.
I believe Netflix's CoComelon is doing well?
Even in the world of animated films, we're not doing so hot. Orion and the Dark did really well and The Wild Robot will probably be good too, but besides that? Not much to look forward to this year, IMO.

I suspect most successful media of any type is for adults, because most potential consumers are adults. And much of the media consumed by kids isn't purchased by kids, so there's that to account for as well.
Suddenly I'm... still rotating Fallen London in my mind even though I've stopped actively playing it.Also IDK if using FOP as a comparison makes sense, it failed because the newer seasons were just bad. If the show was as good as it used to be maybe it'd stand a chance.
In general kid's cartoons nowadays fall under two flavors: the plot-driven, character-developing stuff that you hear people praise endlessly, and the random comedy stuff that people generally find annoying. Nickelodeon in general is just currently on a streak of bad-to-mid shows.
Animation Age Ghetto is more about perception anyway, isn't it? Like people thinking that cartoons are for kids?

Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallEh, I also heard it has weird animation and stuff.
But yeah I think kids in general just aren't as into traditional cable TV anymore, and if they stream they're likely not watching kids shows over cool adult stuff.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallPoint Taken. And I do think it IS about perception. Before, execs PERCEIVED Adult Stuff wouldnt sell, even with many aversion, but now it is the opposite, execs have no faith in kids stuff selling so they just aim for adults. And the worst part is that they are correct. And even without this, confusing adult cartoons for kids stuff is WAY RARER now. In fact kids stuff like Sailor Moon and DBZ Kai airs on Adult Swim with zero irony!
As long as this flower is in my heart. My Strength will flow without end.I think Toonami is a different brand than Adult Swim itself, and sometimes incorporates anime that isn't very "adult." They used to air Hamtaro back in the day, apparently.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.
Oh god lol. I do feel these could be worth mentioning, but I dont really care enough to argue too much about its inclusion. You win lol.
I do thank you for pointing out it is NO surprise kids dont go for kids shows, even on streaming anymore. Why watch Glitter Force when you can watch Madoka Magica lol.
As long as this flower is in my heart. My Strength will flow without end.Okay NOW I really going to stop because THAT ALSO pisses me off. Let kids shows be kids shows. I dont even want to be thought as be DOING THAT.
My last statement on the whole thing is that kids shows are passed off as adult fare instead of the opposite anymore. I wont die on this hill, I can admit IF I am wrong.

As long as this flower is in my heart. My Strength will flow without end.By the way, I'd like to remind that this is "TV Tropes meta thread". While it is more generalized, discussions about specific media would go to media forums.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI was bringing this here because I legit wanted to edit TV Tropes Animation Age Ghetto page but didnt know the correct cleanup or project thread for it. That's why I brought it here.
As long as this flower is in my heart. My Strength will flow without end.I completely understand why it's there, but Election Denial has the most desperate-sounding "examples on this page are restricted" warning I've ever seen.

Discussing TLP is fine, but complaining about people who make drafts is not, so please don't do that.
Edit: And there was a delay in getting to this due to a combination of me being less active (but not completely absent) due to health problems (I wasn't online when the now-thumped post was made) and mod activity in general being slower lately.
