Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules
(in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific ban/suspension cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

Oooh! Right, those are weird / bad. I just assumed it was related to the https://www.w3.org/
consortium and https://www.w3schools.com/
, which actually aren't related, I think.

Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576![]()
w3.org is the official website of the World Wide Web Consortium
, which maintains web standards like HTML. The "W3" in the W3C abbreviation for the organization is another way of writing "www".
Edit: Misread the URL when I originally posted this — it wasn't from w3.org; it was from a separate site that used W3 as an abbreviation for the World Wide Web. (I made the mistake because I associate the W3 abbreviation with the World Wide Web Consortium due to how often WWW is used elsewhere, particularly in the years since that organization was founded.)

I got a rock for Halloween.ww2 and others are called "subdomains" are used as mirrors when the main site is down, to be used as targets to download from when there's high load, or for testing purposes (we have a few like that). They are always owned by the main site. However, 1. if not properly maintained, a subdomain's server can be hacked and rerouted until the owner notices. 2. The DNS registry itself can be paid off so the subdomain address routes to the wrong server.
They are rare to see, but not dangerous. They are commonly associated with phishing sites because they are missed backups when www. one gets nuked.

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupOnly if the edit they're attached to is short.
Suddenly I'm... still rotating Fallen London in my mind even though I've stopped actively playing it.I thought that only happens when the edit itself is short.
Edit: Ah dang, just read Sylvi's post (![]()
) above mine 😅

When you're alone I'm reaching out to let you know that you're far from strangers, like the saviorI think multiple cases of TLP launches replacing disambiguation pages with tropes have come up here (particularly because those cases require manually changing the page type from disambig to trope instead of automatically being set to trope), but I can't think of any cases of newer launches reusing the name of a trope that was cut other than Busy Beaver. That name was originally used by a trope that was simply "beavers exist" and was cut for that reason, and the current incarnation of that page is for a trope about beavers being portrayed as hard workers (which I feel is a better fit for the trope name than what used to be there).
I could be mistaken, though, especially because I don't follow the list of new launches. I only know of the various cases of new trope pages replacing disambiguation pages because I've seen others mention them on the forums.
I got a rock for Halloween.I love Larkmarn, especially when he says things like...
- ... jesus. "The Paraglider" is in there as a gamebreaker. That's... astonishing. It's such a necessary mechanic in the game I feel like you may as well have an entry for "Analog Stick: Using the analog stick, you can control Link to basically do anything you need to in the game. In fact, using it properly will allow you to beat the final boss!"
My current hobby on TV Tropes is making Image Pickin' threads for games whose page images are landscape Steam banners to replace them with the portrait versions. I've done that with Against the Storm, Timberborn, and Lenna's Inception so far, and I just made a thread for Planet Zoo.

Now I wonder how practical it would be to have one page in a different font from the rest of the wiki just to have his self-demonstrating page in Comic Sans.
It would be even better if that specific Sans came from a webcomic and not the normal game
Then he's literally "Comic Sans"
Do we really not have just a plain Sitcom index anywhere? I wanted to put SMPLive on one since it's basically just a Minecraft sitcom, but I can't find one for the life of me and it doesn't fit any of the subgenre indexes.
It's driving me crazy that it doesn't have any kind of comedy related index right now and there's not a Comedy Web Originals index either ._.

LP Deprecation Cleanup | Ask me about SMPLiveYou can't really make an index with only one example; even in the TLP that wouldn't fly.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallThe trope of the day hasn't changed yet. I know there's the data conversion stuff but seems like Invisible Introvert is the last trope in the list.

God legit scared for a sec, I know ww2 or ww3 IS NEVER a good sign.
