Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules
(in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific ban/suspension cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

I feel bad sometimes when I point out that people are derailing, I feel like such a buzzkill, or I'm interrupting a discussion midway to say "ok but can we get back to the OG topic"? Usually this happens on the left side forums though where a derail can be much more serious
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallNooo I'm way too socially awkward to PM people most of the time lol
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallAh, OK. I agree.
I'm pretty sure it's red that would shake them into going back on topic, not blue.

I got a rock for Halloween."A private out of the blue"? Do you mean a picture of someone's genitals, or a soldier knocking on their door? I'm sure either of them would shock them, but I'm not sure that it's the best way to keep the conversation going.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years....who presents you with a picture of someone's genitals.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. For once, I’m actually confused as to why one of my image suggestions
is getting downvoted. Is Guts Man’s Ass just not as well-known as it used to be?
Apparently it isn't.
Suddenly I'm... still rotating Fallen London in my mind even though I've stopped actively playing it.Guts Man's Ass is more of an old school meme (it was at its most popular in the 2000's). I think it was used mostly in Youtube Poops in that era. Didn't seem to have much staying power unlike, say, Rickrolling.
SING TO ME, LEND ME THE SONG OF BLASPHEMYIt's a meme from Mega Man (Ruby-Spears). In one episode, Guts Man was in disguise, and Mega Man recognized him when a hole was made in the costume, exposing his rear.
SING TO ME, LEND ME THE SONG OF BLASPHEMYSometimes I read a trope page (and specifically if I check out multiple similar tropes in a row) and I get frustrated and wish there was a page a bit like the Laconic Wiki, but "Not This Trope" that lists, using examples removed from the original article if needed, what specifically does not fall under the definition of the trope.
[ed.] also, I was just checking out Money Song, and the page quote is a song that just quotes another song. Why quote the Wycleaf song when literally every word relevant to the trope in the quote is directly lifted from the Wu Tang Clan song? Hell, the Wu Tang song is arguably more well known of the two.

I wonder if it would be good for indices to share disambig pages' green pothole color.
My musician pageWell, then perhaps a different color. Either way, Indices aren't supposed to be potholed any more than disambigs are, so you shouldn't be seeing either on regular pages.

My musician pageThe index color link thing was put to rest by an admin here
because there was too much disagreement about it so I don't think it's going to happen. There is a new query
about index icons so maybe you can comment on that if you find it of interest .
Indexes are allowed to be in trope and index descriptions when appropriate unlike disambigs so it's not exactly the same thing.

Macron's notesWell, it's run by the people listed here
+ Kory so that's 9 (unless there's other people that aren't on that page). I don't know who specifically handles site design though.

Macron's notesWe have a design team? I thought it was just one guy with a major in Graphics Design.
