Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules
(in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific ban/suspension cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

If this is an attempt to get me to change the thread's title to "Post your random thoughts", it's not happening. I already changed the thread's title once and there are no refunds. (No, you didn't pay for it. No, I didn't get paid for it. You still aren't getting your $0.00 back.)

I got a rock for Halloween.It's a followup to a joke about what's inside a troper's brain, so it's not random. Is it on-topic, I don't want to guess.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI'm aware. I was joking myself, hence why I threw in the Self-Deprecation regarding me changing thread titles. That, and this Slander post
I made regarding the thread getting taken over by robots running discontinued operating systems.

I got a rock for Halloween."the thread getting taken over by robots"
Makes me wonder what if there was a "ask chatgpt" or something thread where one user is an actual bot or someone who can pass posts to an online tool and back.

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupNot a fan of double-clicking to get to the Cut List either, but on the plus side, at least it doesn't unnecessarily extend the length of a short page that much anymore. That is, unless, there's an advert underneath the sidebar instead.
Everything the same on desktop mode and I am stuck using mobile for time being which has a different layout.
Although even if I did get the new sidebar, it won't be that much of an inconvenience because I rarely use the sidebar.
Macron's notesI'll have to get used to an extra click being needed to access the Cut List because being the self-appointed "TRS guy" of the mod team means I regularly use the tool (most of the time, it's sandboxes getting cut, and most of those sandboxes are for wick checks that have been archived in the OPs).
I got a rock for Halloween.Bizarrely, I got the new sidebar on my Windows desktop but not my Mac laptop. Weird.

It's apparently only being used for half the site's traffic. Yes, that's right. 50% of the site's userbase's experience is personalized.
I'm using a laptop, but I'm using neither of those OSes — I'm using Manjaro Linux. (I do have a dual-boot setup with Windows 11, which is what the computer came with, though.)

I got a rock for Halloween.Ah, A/B testing
.
This is what I assumed because the admins have been working on fixing ad issues for a while now but I didn't know for sure until it was confirmed to us when I asked why the experiment was being done.
Currently, the old sidebar has four ads while the new sidebar only has one.

Macron's notesThe Discussion pages for anything that's not a Trope, Flame Bait, Work, Creator/ or Characters/ page tend to be unused.
Currently Reading: N/A*counts on fingers* ... what does that leave, Trivia and JFF? and administrivia. but the quip flows better with two items.
Suddenly I'm... still rotating Fallen London in my mind even though I've stopped actively playing it.Most editors don't use the forums though. It's more that the discussion page is not that accessible.
Macron's notesI remember when I found and replied to a discussion post on Recap.Bo Boi Boy about the same day it was made. Granted, I had that in my followed pages.
I wish Discussion pages were more accessible too. I wonder if an indicator next to the Discussion button itself stating how many posts there are in a page's Discussion section would be a good idea.

When you're alone I'm reaching out to let you know that you're far from strangers, like the saviorThe issue with discussion pages is that they don't alert people properly. Like, you'd think they'd make it nice and obvious that a discussion has been started, but people have to actively check... and most of the time, they won't be unless they already know there's a discussion.
That's different from ATT and the forums, which a lot of us either check habitually or follow.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallOne way to know is if you follow the page because discussion page's automatically get added to the follow list but people shouldn't have to do that.
Macron's notesMuch like I don't follow threads, I also don't follow tropes or work pages, mostly because I never bother to check my following page anyway and also don't have a particularly strong interest in most of them (not in the way that I want to watch their edits, at least)
