Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules
(in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific ban/suspension cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

You can also add hyphens to the title, but shouldn't.
It's always difficult to check if a Memetic Mutation entry needs to be deleted or not when you have never heard of the meme in question before. It's hard to know if the memetic aspect is viral enough to be listed and you just never happened to see it, was used in the past when the entry was written but has since been forgotten, or it is misuse and the user based it on a single internal joke someone made once. What is the limit of how viral an entry has to be to qualify as a meme? I assume it must be seen at least outside of a specific forum, but it's hard to proof check this sort of thing.

oh hey how are you doing?Finding tropes for music is pretty hard as well. I wanted one of my first work/creator pages to be Parquet Courts but I've got to do a lot of listening and thinking first.
Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallI feel like there aren't as many tropes for music compared to how many there are for things like narratives, gameplay, or visuals.
Your melody still remains in this room and it rings
Well, it depends on the music. Some songs focus solely on metric and on the melody and thus don't have much, if any narrative, while others are pretty much Narrative Poems with music. Some like Faroeste Caboclo or Eduardo & Monica are so lenghthy that got turned into movies without too much Adaptation Expansion. But indeed, for the music on itself there aren't much tropes on the site, even though it's as capable of conveying feelings as things like photography and gameplay.

oh hey how are you doing?I just realized that Twilight is a single page. No separate pages for each book, no separate pages for the film adaptations, just one big page that covers four books and five films of its own.
There's been recent talk about splitting the page up actually. I think people were trying to figure out what to do with the Twilight page after the split.
Macron's notesIf you only have the one page its a lot easier to keep the complaining under control. That's my guess, anyways.
Read Pokemon Ultimate EmeraldThat's why Awesome Music struggles so much context-wise. Nobody knows how to actually describe it. Also, any time someone tries to draft a music trope on TLP, it often struggles because people don't always understand what's actually being described — while with a visual or narrative trope you can just describe exactly what it is.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallFernandoLemon: Really? I counted it with namespaces. And I'm pretty sure the limit for both namespaces and titles is 64. 26^2*36^126 accounts for 128 characters. That said, it is not case-sensitive.
As for music, yeah. I have several musician pages I just can't get off the ground.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Ain't Too Proud to Beg's examples are divided into three folders for the three flavors of the trope instead of the examples being folderized by mediums. I find that kinda odd.
SING TO ME, LEND ME THE SONG OF BLASPHEMYOh yeah, Suspiciously Similar Song is mostly weblinks because people don't know how to use text to compare music.
Suddenly I'm... still rotating Fallen London in my mind even though I've stopped actively playing it.![]()

- Oh, I thought Namespace + Page Name could only be 64 characters in total, not that they could each be 64 long.
Haruhi Suzumiya was one of the first Light Novel adaptations to really go gangbusters in the West. For at least a couple of years it was the anime to meme about, partly because of its sheer popularity, partly because of the Anachronic Order of the first season's episodes (a gag brought over from the light novels), partly because of how unusual a character Haruhi was and how the core cast interacted with her, and partly because of its ending sequence which featured the cast doing a choreographed dance number
that looks like it's straight out of a J-idol show. The aforementioned "Endless 8" arc, however, shot a lot of the anime's momentum out from under it, and the whole thing kinda fizzled out and was overtaken by other works. It's definitely worth checking out if you have the time.

So did all the cases of “Light Novel” get replaced with “Literature”?
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!
I think there are still some Light Novel namespace remnants around.
Thanks, I was just wondering.
I still remember when I first came to this here website. I thought that “light novel” was another term for a short story or a novella. ^_^;;
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!Light Novel is in the process of being cleaned out, so the pages that are still there do eventually have to be moved (but the LN pages can stay as redirects if there's inbounds I think).
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallOk, I finally got a music page off the ground at Numberock. On the one hand, they have at least 30 songs, but on the other hand, they're both music and educational, combining two things that make it hard to find tropes.

At least it's self-explanatory.
