Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules
(in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific ban/suspension cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

tfw I can't read new things because their work pages suck and I'd be inclined to remake them when I don't have time.

Same if it's something long enough I can't take it in in a single sitting, plus it allows me to write down quotes as I come across them instead of hunting for them later. Although I may not necessarily post finished examples as I go — I may instead take notes and fill them in later, e.g. if it's something pertaining to the overarching story instead of a specific moment.
I finished the work for a TRS thread for a Stock Phrase (Going to Be One of Those Days) and I don't know how I didn't realize until now that examples that begin with Word Cruft like "Said in [work/part of work]" or "[Character] says this" are absurdly common with meaningless stock phrases, and the fact that there isn't really anything meaningful to say to begin with is further evidence that Stock Phrases Are Not Tropes.

I got a rock for Halloween.I've been on a palaeontology kick over the past few months, and I've noticed that Prehistoric Park Reimagined seems to be another one of those fanfics whose pages were mostly written by one, dedicated person.
Wouldn't surprise me if a lot of fanfic pages were written by one person, which I suppose would be the opposite of how the pages for some official works have enough editors that having to wait for another editor to release their edit lock is always a possibility during active hours (along with the possibility of someone letting the edit lock expire and an Edit Stomp occurring afterward).
Edit: Speaking of the Edit Stomp page, I just noticed it doesn't contain any links to the Edit War page despite the former having the potential to result in accidental edit wars. It looks like I just moved the page from Main/ to Administrivia after only making minor tweaks before the move (though to be fair, I was still new to moderating, and the thread that moved the page was a ginormous batch thread started months before I was a mod and was open as long as it was due to its scope, so it probably got lost in the shuffle due to other pages being worked on as well).

I got a rock for Halloween. So, on the Home Page, I just noticed that the page image for "Groundhog Day" Loop (which was, fittingly, the trope of the day) was changed some time ago, and upon looking at its IP thread
, I noticed something from its old page caption. ("We have entered an endless recursion of time.") It lead to Haruhi Suzumiya.
Now, I read that back in the old days of the wiki, Haruhi Suzumiya was heavily referenced all around the site, but when I signed in in late 2011, I hardly saw any reference, granted I didn't watch the anime as well to not getting it. I did know that My Little Pony started to get referenced here, and I watched much of the show. Why was Haruhi Suzumiya a thing here, and what made her drop afterwards? Did Haruhi got displaced by My Little Pony?

Hm, yes, trope of the day... singular.
Couldn't find the relevant post for what I mentioned wanting to do with the featured trope at this time of the year (a few months ago, I think), but now that it's here, get used to it because the other mods are in on it.
Edit: Found it.

I got a rock for Halloween.Earlier today, my Ptero Soarer Wick Check brought me to Pantheon.Mesozoic Beasts, where I saw the weirdest case of mindless wick-cleaning I've ever seen: [[Tyrannosaurus rex Rexy]]. Clearly, it was a link to Tyrannosaurus Rex back when that was a trope, and someone un-wiki-worded it without realising it was in a pothole. I fixed it.
EDIT: Misread something, whoops

I don’t know why it became popular, but I do recall that it had a controversial season (the Endless 8, which was the same plot told literally over and over again with minor changes) which caused its popularity to plummet. That, and little content of the franchise came out afterwards.

How appropriate for Groundhog Day, we already had a conversation about Haruhi
just a few days ago!
I had to watch the show just so I could add that joke to Trope Report. It was worth it.

I think you forgot an arrow because that sounds like it was a reply to Alnair and not me.
Can someone make an estimation regarding how many possible TV Tropes page names (in URL so no custom titles, including different namespaces, not case-sensitive) there could be? Curiosity + might use the number later for an idle game.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Can't help but notice that some of the Artistic License tropes never got a name change. Like, we still have Somewhere, a Herpetologist Is Crying.
Read Pokemon Ultimate EmeraldMaybe people didn't feel it needed one? Or They Just Didn't Care (which is a trope that got renamed, for the record).
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)It's not just Herpetologist there's also Somewhere, a Mammalogist Is Crying and Somewhere, an Entomologist Is Crying.
Read Pokemon Ultimate EmeraldHave ya'll ever thought about a trope when you're away from a phone or computer to look it up? And then you come to this wiki and forget what you were gonna look up?
Or is it just me?
"The three rules of the librarians of time and space: silence; books must be returned on time; no interfering with the nature of causality."That happened to me a couple of times. ^_^;;
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!
x?:
We have a max of 65 characters per page name right now? 26 (for the first chara must be a alphabet) * 36^64 (Alphanumeric for all the other characters)
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576So I'd assume it'd be 26^2*36^128 if we include different namespaces, which equals 1.08e202 (but I'm pretty sure the limit is 64 characters, in which case it'd be 26^2*36^126=8.4e198). Thanks for helping.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Of course most of those possible names are meaningless strings of random characters

I trope as I consume the work otherwise I would be able to remember all of the details.
