Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules
(in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific ban/suspension cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

Heh...
But exclusively idle games is way off. I also take part in writing about games in other genres and more random stuff.
Here's a thing from me: If you can fill up a 1440p monitor with examples, your trope is practically guaranteed to hit Standing status (from Wick) by launch, even the four-year one in some cases. That happened with Reset Milestones. Ask me if you don't have a 1440p and want to know.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Surely you can recognize me from my forum posts, considering how often I've complained about my health, or just self-deprecated in some other way. That, and some of my forum posts are the same color as Kirby.
As for my edits, it's mostly TRS stuff these days, but sometimes I'll edit pages for games I'm currently playing (which I did recently by doing some cleanup work on the subpages for Fire Emblem Engage).

I got a rock for Halloween. All times I recognize a person edits is because they're doing a TRS cleanup. I generally don't see people I know on the pages I follow.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI'd like to move most of the pages on Series/ and Film/ to a new namespace called WesternLiveAction/ just to be consistent with WesternAnimation/. This will be a pain in the ass to work on and will benefit no-one. Please Gaston?
I'm joking, but I'm still wondering when and why we decided that animated films and shows should go on the same namespace.
I'd rather do something with Western Animation/, Animation/ or Animated Film/, which was discussed here
and now I remember stopped because the suggestion failed.

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupWhy stop there? Why not move every single work page on the site to Work/? (OK, I stole that joke from someone else; I think Chloe Jessica was the one who came up with it several months ago. But I'm bringing it back up because it's relevant again now that we're discussing overhauling namespaces.)

I got a rock for Halloween."Why not move every single work page on the site to Work/?"
Which is what I hope 2.0 would be about.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupThe vision for 2.0 is for namespaces to be converted into tags. So a work can be tagged as both Anime and Film.

I don't know if we're actually overhauling (I barely even follow Wiki Talk). I was responding to your joke with another joke (which wasn't even my joke).

I got a rock for Halloween.Or what we do with pagetypes, if we had a pagetype for every namespace.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupYeah basically. If Tvtropes 2.0 ever happens, we won't have any namespace issues again.
Macron's notesThis reminds me I still need to finish the sandbox database in PHP to see how "automated crosswicking" would even work (effectively making a separate list for examples and telling which two pages to connect to). The basic article layout has so many elements (name, quote, image, description, indexes, etc) it quickly stopped being fun trying to recreate just that much in spare time.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI think we should put all animated films under film just as a fuck you to everyone who thinks they aren't.

What Page Types Mean: "if the Recap page for an individual episode of a series has its own reviews, it will need this page type"
That's a pretty obscure rule that I've got wrong
.
There have been times when TRS converted a page into a disambiguation page without changing the page type accordingly. Sometimes I was the one responsible for that mistake.

I got a rock for Halloween.Changing the page type isn't exactly intuitive so I often forget about it and you can't see it on mobile view.
Macron's notesThe fact that it isn't intuitive is why the admins should make a new page type simply called "page", and we can change every page to that.

I got a rock for Halloween.I still don't know what an actual Surprisingly Realistic Outcome example looks like. That's one trope I'll never touch.
Macron's notes

It's surreal to go watch old OSP videos on Shakespeare and seeing screenshots of old TV Tropes pages.
