Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules
(in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific ban/suspension cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

Since my thesis (And it's grip on most of my writing brain matter) is almost done I should be free to get back to writing articles soon enough.

Hugging a Vanillite will give you frostbite.I guess you could argue some of the more "fun" namespaces could only have been created in the site's early days, but they're so common-place and so ingrained with the site's culture that I can hardly consider them "relics". Stuff like Analysis, Wild Mass Guessing, Fanfic Recommendations, Drinking Game and the Haiku-Wiki.

Yeah, the wiki has become far more centralised over the last few years. Though it would also be pretty hard to come up with any subwikis which wouldn't be redundant, trend-chasing, or just lacking potential for growth. I mean, haiku is pretty timeless, but an emojified page is unlikely to be.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Why is that surprising that Administrivia.Chairs Sit On People is in the Administrivia/ namespace? That's what Administrivia.Too Rare To Trope actually used to be called (as opposed to a redirect that exists solely as a joke) before it was decided that it needed a clearer name that wasn't a snowclone of Administrivia.People Sit On Chairs. I think this might have happened via TRS, but I don't remember how old the thread was.

Probably because I was expecting a joke page like what the JustForFun.People Sit On Chairs page actually is (and at the time I didn't look any deeper than "yeah, this looks like the policy page to me). I thought it would be a page about chairs sitting on people, not a redirect title.
And with the reignition of people interested in maybe creating new namespaces for internet works, we may have more new ones yet.

Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallRe: Analysis
- Thinking of Analysis/ as "fun" is strange to me. Originally the existence of the namespace annoyed me because it felt like codifying "the wiki is for birdwatching, we will only begrudgingly keep any deeper consideration of birds' anatomy or ecology or phylogeny filed away in a dark corner". :P (It still kind of does, but I've come to accept that it's necessary to keep trope descriptions at manageable lengths.)

ERROR: The current state of the world is unacceptable. Save anyway? YES/NOWow okay didn't expect all that discourse.
Honestly the fake media trope pages are the most valid usages of the JFF namespace to me because it's still talking about the usage of tropes in media, just not media that we know enough to trope in full.
Personally I think it's harmless if we keep that stuff off the main wiki. It's when people use JFF as a total dumping ground that it's like ehhhhh.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I've never considered Analysis as a Fun page, instead as an expanded trope description, with history and hypothetical examples.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI was looking back at the Bootleg Names forum game
, and found that the past
three
bumps
(as of me writing) all came from the same troper.
Not that really relavent to the current topic, and not trying to knock anyone down, I just wanted to point something out.

I've completely forgot that Main.FAQ exists and I should direct people to it more often. Maybe to also consider proposing more stuff that repeatedly gets asked.

TroperWall / WikiMagic Cleanup![]()
I redirected the broken link on ATT to that page (which was supposed to be a drop-down menu with links to other resources according to a post from you from around when I discovered it, but instead links to Pmwiki.Help due to a bug, with that link redirecting to Main.FAQ to keep the auto-disambig from taking people to pages unrelated to ATT) because I felt that its brevity compared to the main Administrivia index made it a better target.
(I'm pretty sure Amonimus already knows this since they said why the help link isn't working properly. Posting this for the sake of people here who didn't already know about this stopgap redirect.)

There's likely several, TBH. It's partly why I made the thread about nonexistent works despite finding the whole Goncharov thing rather off-putting - because it's entirely conceivable that it's not the only case where people treating a nonexistent work like it actually exists have effectively created a work in their own right.
Continuing from yesterday's query: are Trope Co. and So You Want To active? When's the last time either got a new page? Do they have dedicated threads like Trope Pantheons?
TropeCo.Our Slashers Are Different was made at the beginning of this month, actually
HAPPY HALLOWEEN FOR MARIAThe only recent edits to the SYWT index are just one Troper adding a ton of "page idea" redlinks.
TRS Wick CleaningI’d prefer it if it was a different kind of dusty. ;)
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!

The Pokédex - Extended Fanon Edition is pretty old as far as I'm aware. Also pretty dead. I should finish whatever my current entry claim is or claim a Pokémon if I haven't.
